The UrbanMech is hands-down my favorite mech. It has some decent variants outside the IIC (R60L (AC/20), R63(LB-X AC/10, ERSL) and R70 (RAC/5, ERML, ERSL) being my favorites), and even the classic R60 can tear through a torso in a few well-placed shots. No, they're not particularly good on the offensive, but for base defense and ambushes there's few light-class mechs that can compare.

No sarcasm, no lie, at least 75% of the reason I bought into MWO was the hope that I could pilot an Urbie.

Or at least a JagerMech.

I remember that you could get it in BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception (or was it revenge?) from the Arena. You'd get one assigned sometimes if you chose to lend a mech instead of using your own... in turn you could blast the walls and escape with it, using it for the rest of the campaign. It's also in the original Tabletop, including a Clanvariant, the Urbanmech IIC.

I think I remember that, actually. I believe the problem may have been that you couldn't go back to that city, right?

I'd rather "steal" the Chameleon on the training mission gone bad whe the Kurita Jenner attacks.

Yep, that would've been your last arena-battle for that playthrough if you chose to steal any mech from it.

Assuming a scenario where a lance of Urbis is defending a closed and somewhat cramped location they could be bad news for anny light or medium Mech who gets cought between 2 or more Urbis. The damage they can inflict stands in no relation with their low prize and profile.
In anny other scenario Urbis aren't even worth a joke.

Ah... but doing that takes real skill (and a normally, a little reloading...)
Spoiler tags? What, you mean you're reading this and you haven't played Crescent Hawks Inception to death?

Everyone loves Urbanmech. Everyone knows that Urbanmech is strong.

Just how strong?
Who would you like to see Urbanmech curbstomp to doom?
Who do you think would make Urbanmech break a sweat?
This is like celebrity deatmatch, only with a resident champion.

My hate for the Urbanmech could blot out the sun.
However it would be interesting to see one curb stomp tom cruise.

In our religion, it is called an URBIE STOMP ®. Your corrected sentence. "However it would be interesting to see one URBIEstomp® tom cruise. "

You didn'T need to kill the Jenners - you just needed to run away fast enough. After some distance, you leave the battle and you keep your mech. Don't know if that was an exploit or not.*

And I am just saying - it could be that someone hasn't played Crescent Hawk's Inception (or Crescent Hawk's Revenge) yet, and we don't want to spoil his or her fun!

*) if it was an exploit; I never used it, I swear!

The Urbanmech also appeared in Battletech 2: The Crescent Hawk's Revenge. You and a lancemate are tasked with protecting LRM trucks as they make their way across a base, and you're both forced to use Urbanmechs. I never hated a mission more in that game. The only thing that made me feel better about myself (other than eventually beating it) was that both NPC pilots in the game continuously complained about how much they hated Urbanmechs too.

Urbie, forgive them, for they do not know what they are saying.

Urbie is the son of Overlord, born of the virgin JagerMech, and trained to be a carpenter by Imp.

Urbanmech would make an awesome boss character for Borderlands 3. The rocket launcher I recently found could probably melt one though.

look i get the urban mech is a good mech all around for its size and such, but where does this religous devotion come from, i have trashed them in timberwolves, novas, and it is not as round as you think, that dragon would still smash it because being rounded, and being deflective are not nessisarly the same thing, considering the dragon's size, no it would not break an ankle. i get we all have our favorite mechs, i would be hard pressed to say there isn't a mech design out there that a elite timberwolf pilot in a well maintained timberwolf couldn't curb stomp, but that doesn't mean i am going to be a religous zealout style moron about it, cause everything can be beaten.

urbanmech is almighty chariot of doom itself - the only thing that could rival it is another urbanmech.

Urbie's are the choice of the strong, brave and drunk.
The last stand for those who rebel.

... and great when used against militia, seagulls, varment, elderly mall walkers and abandoned cars.
