Do a solo FP queue, and a group FP queue, and that's it. Solos play only solos, so the game quality would be unchanged. Groups just play groups.

Sure, but then people like me would quit. I don't want 25-30 min games and I don't like 4v4 scouting. I like 10 min ,12v12, QP

Why not lose the dropdecks, then? Group FP queue could keep dropdecks, if they want. Solo FP queue without dropdecks. Matches remain "one n' done," 15 minutes, tops. Quickplay stays quick.

Well..... they COULD just kill quick play entirely. Do a solo FP queue, and a group FP queue, and that's it. Solos play only solos, so the game quality would be unchanged. Groups just play groups. Maybe if you're a high enough ranked solo player you can be thrown into solo queue or group queue, depending on your SSR. But just kill quick play entirely.

They could, but would have to have the current solo queue as the standard FP mode. The problem is most people don't want to play a dropdeck of mechs (or can't) due to varying reasons. One can be they don't like anything over a medium. It can be that they don't have lights, it can be that they are completely new to the game and is now dropping in 4 stock unskilled mechs in a factionplay match for his game (followed by grinding a shitload for 4 mechs for a "balanced" dropdeck all during which he can't play what he wants to play 3/4, 2/4, 1/4 of the time). Same as SFC174 i just don't like scouting, but i like playings lights and mediums. Heavy's and assaults just don't appeal to me. I want to be in a full match, with the mech which i choose, with as little forced things as possible. I want to play with (on my team) assaults and heavies and mediums and lights, and against them. That makes the game fun for me, and for many like me. Trying to force someone into certain mechs or restricting what they can face, just drives people away.

Sure, but is it really FP then? What purpose does it serve in terms of improving wait times for either the traditional group FP players or traditional SoloQ players?

FP and Solo are very, very different playstyles. Almost incompatible with each other at some level.

Again, very tough problem to solve.
