Score calculates from damage, kill, kmdd and other actions: destroing componens, lance in formation, scouting, hit-and-run, missiles destruction and so on. When your team is good (share armor, protect backside) and opponts does not focusing your mech and you choose right place in right time when you can get more 500 score. Many of factors prevents to take 500. For example I make 777 dmg and got only 350 score. Another game I make 450 dmg and make >400 score. Very few guys can do > 1000 dmg in 3 minutes and they used weapon-abused configuration, not common.

You can easily reach even higher scores with fast mechs with good heat. Any laser build that has at least 16 DHS and is specced for heat will allow you to fire almost nonstop. If you reach frontline first and survive throughout the match you can do big dmg. And good scores without consumables. And consumables are only cbills. If you perform well you still make cash even when 'wasting' 2 cool shots.

I use cool shots....a lot.

Mostly even 2. Still make money.

Everything definitely adds up. Even a single "Enemy Spotted" action from the command wheel can make the difference between 499 and 500 match score.

No achievement must be possible for everybody. But everybody has the right to try or talk about using consumables to achieve a challenge. Even though you might not admit it, i hope you get the idea that looking down on someone who can`t do it without consumables or calling his thoughts ridiculous is not helpful. From your perspective it might really look ridiculous but not from the perspective of many many other players that struggle to achieve 500 match score no matter how hard they try.

Yes thats true. But does that change anything about my point only because PGI gives a few MC, consumables and if you are lucky a week of PT for free at the moment?

That's their own fault for not being good enough, for many other players got over 500 MS without the aid of consumables. Being good at this game should be rewarded, and kudos to PGI for making it happen. Heck, if one can't play well enough to get high MS, then just pilot a 3xAMS Nova and shoot down some missiles!

Just a single day of PT can help a newbie to use consumables without going broke, in order to try to reach the 500 MS. If the guy can't do it in a day, then use the free MC to buy more PT!

Grinding C-Bills for consumables should be no problem to those who participated in the events and bought hero mechs on sale. This year alone, I got over 10,000 MC through events and Solaris participation, completely F2P. That's enough MC to buy two decent hero mechs on sale, without spending a single cent on this game.

IMO, PGI is giving away free things during the event, and people are still finding ways to ***** about extra goodies--very disappointing.

Yep I was going to say just pilot a 3xAMS mech and get the 500 match score that way. Especially since PGI gave a free Nova with the three AMS hardpoints to everyone relatively recently.

I tried the 2AMS 1 CLAMS on my free kitfox with 2 SRM6, 3 ERML, and 2 MG. I got 2 kills, burned through a ton of AMS ammo before my AMS got shot off, and I still didn't get 500 match score. XD

It was fun though. I might drop the MG for a heat sink.

Enemy spotted from the command wheel does not give bonuses.

I mean, I got over 500 on several mechs, now, and I rarely, if ever, even bother to equip air or arty. Just a little earlier, I did 500 on a brawly shadow cat, of all things. Only consumable was cool shot, and I can't even recall if I used it that match.



So, no. There is no need to use consumables to get that 500 match score.

hhmmmm, looking through my screenshots the best ive done is 771 matchscore in a Supernova B, 1259 damage and 5 kills, 6 assists. only consumable was coolshot

EDITED: ive also managed to break 500 matchscore without consumables with ZEU-9S (528) STK-5S (748) ONI-IIC-B (698). if i remember my account of images ill throw up the pics

~800 damage, 2 kills, 5-6 assists, don't recall the rest

Cleared 500 match score in 1 game.

You do have to be on the winning team to do it, though.

Mmh as much as I laugh at all the people claiming how easy it was ... I didn't use consumables or LRM's or AMS cheesing.

My successful attempt was in a JM6-DD on maybe drop 15 (I vaguely recall) and playing totally normally: 5 kills, 7 assists, 4 solo, 5 KMDD, 683 damage and a few bits like 4 saviour kills came to 502. Coincidentally almost no team damage.

So easy.... (not).

Edit: Really we should insist on screenshots in this thread but I suspect most people "forgot to take them" while remembering exactly their damage/match score.

Nobody ***** about extra goodies or free things. At least i hope so. But all that has still nothing to do with your claim that consumables are not p2w only because they cost c-bills. In the big picture they are, no matter how hard consumable users try to convince themself otherwise.
Fine if a newbie can affort em 1 week or wants to be stuck to 1-2 hero mechs for a whole year (given he has the time to grind all the possible events and is able to achieve em, what in your opinion should not be possible).
What about the other 51 weeks or his other non hero mechs where he can`t spam consumables without PT? Does the red smoke boon, better intel or the 2 extra alphas by the ones who can afford it due to paying real money for PT magically stop when he can`t affort consumables? But i guess you have your opinion and you won`t change it no matter what i say. So we can stop it here.

I use 1 coolshot, save in lights where I have a coolshot and two UAVs.

I only ever used arty/airstrike when I played in MRBC/comp queue because they're pretty much required there.

I hate consuambles of all sorts and wish they were removed, the game would be better for it.
