An Air Strike or UAV costs, what, 40,000 C-Bills? Both generating C-Bills either through damage inflicted or UAV target locks? A low end win produces, what, 200k? A good game produces 400-600k? You can. People do. Daily.

The fact that they are easily afforded via C-Bills, and the MC and C-Bill version are identical, completely undermines the argument of P2W.

The very definition of pay to win revolves around getting an advantage in your gameplay or chance of success in a game via methods only obtainable reasonably with real world cash transactions. Our consumables, as awful as they might be to the game in the big picture, still fail to fall within that awfully broad definition. Everything you can obtain via real money is easily obtained equally with just playing the game. You don't even need to try that hard. It is extremely reasonably obtained just by playing the game.

Now, if you load up on three or four or five consumables, and also choose to use them all every game, than that is entirely your decision, as well as entirely unnecessary. I'd even argue that by sinking so many points into that particular tree, you're actually hampering your mech and in game performance in other areas.

Ey look, this thread is still going.

I got the needed score just by playing apparantly, didnt even check before this thread popped up really.

It's really not that hard and frankly a UAV is something you should always bring along so the "awesome" players on your team stop nascaring looking for the enemy or stop chasing the squirrel and actually know where to shoot at.
Most of times I found it useful to direct players towards the enemie.

That it actually improves match score is a side note really.
Btw, c-bill UAV with a few skill points enhanced OP.

PGI making one of the events marginally challenging (hitting 500 1x out of 50 matches isn’t exactly climbing Everest people...c’mon) for players isn’t something to complain about. The greater issue was the suicidial rushes due to the super-easy 50 match score bar to get loot bags. Where folks get a match, run in ASAP....guns blazing to do 100 damage, immediately die, then disconnect....all so they can hop in a new mech asap and repeat. Just spamming matches to get those loot bags quick. If anything PGI makes things too easy...but hey we all like free stuff, so I can get over it.

I'm not going to read all 5 pages of this, but I am going to respond to the OP; It is absolutely possible to break 500 matchscore without consumables. I only ever use consumables if PGI gave me some free ones in some event and I break 500 MS all the time. Not MOST the time, mind you, but it's hardly a rare occurrence. For goodness sake, I remember one time I broke 500 MS in my Spider 5D with three medium pulse lasers.

I can do his easily with Laser builds, Dakka Builds, missile builds ans even brawler builds if i live long enough into the late game. It isnt hard. Peek more, stare less, stay mobile.

I think your numbers are a little inflated from premium and other bonuses. A bad loss can easily net you less than 80K without premium time, or the cost of 2 consumables. I've had matches where I actually lost money due to this. 400K requires a great match with premium; 600K a phenomenal one.

In my experience it's pretty rare to lose money even popping two consumables every game even without premium time but it tends to leave you with just enough cash to buy SP and bank maybe 40K.

Premium let's you do all that AND save meaningful money towards a new mech or refits.

It definitely gives those of us with all the mechs we could ever want and a hoard of GSP a leg up in the day to day but it's mostly a matter of priorities.

I've had a couple of matches today that were sub 80K without premium. One was a 330+ damage loss with a KMDD and 3 assists.

Let's say many.

I'm not arguing that consumables are in fact pay to win. I'm just saying Pariah's claims of average earnings are waaaaay off the mark for most people.

They can keep trying to get the 500 as long as the event lasts, there's no requirement to do it before they earn all their loot bags.

A lot less than 200k, here are my avg, never used consumables.

i managed to do it without trying very hard in a 4xlb10 anni-1x. as long as i survive long enough to use my ammo, i can usually do about 700-900 damage and get 600 match score by the end.

I just scored 585 with an SNS-VG omni with an LB20-X, 2xASRM6, ECM and an ATM-9. 5 kills and 5 assists with 880 damage. No consumables. I would post a screenshot but Nightbird's puts mine to shame Posted Image

thatsvery rare games ..like DC and rejoin after 3 Minutes (thanks for all the Marketing Screens and MWO loading Time) and stand alone against 10 Reds or my Team will Play basecamping in HPG...many im become with Lanceplay...KKMD...Parts destroying ...yes Headshots by MWO financial the baddest Way to play in MWO

Amusingly that is my main use of UAVs in QP... It magically summons my team who are ignoring voice intel like lemmings. Posted Image

Getting 500 score really isnt hard whatsoever.

If you cannot get even that low score then youre just running weird builds or instadie after like 3 seconds in a match.
