That sounds like enough for me, though I'd want to sacrifice a ton for some backup weapons.

Build. I tried it with 4t of ammo first, but the Incubus seems to get parted out far more easily than other 30-tonners do- I dropped a ton to add a laser on the other torso after several matches where my gun was blown off early. It's much more consistent now.

If you can make a Kit Fox or Adder work, you can make a slow Incubus work- especially since the Incubus has better hardpoint geometry. With its Purifier pods, the KFX gets some useful high mounts, but they're also set well above the cockpit... whereas all of the Incubus' LT and RT hardpoints, in addition to being at the top of the 'Mech, are exactly at cockpit level. With a PPC or large ballistic, you can effectively win most of your trades for free because you'll be back in cover by the time the enemy figures out where you fired from... much like a big-gun Urbie or Raven, but with Clantech. The same basic tactics apply.

Another stupid idea- the Plinkubus. Fun, but dumb. Really, really dumb. I did solo a meta-MCII with it the other night, but he might have just been laughing too hard to aim straight. It'd probably be a little less derpy with UAC2s, but since derpy was exactly the point, why bother?

Hello all,

I'm having fun with the -1, 3xHML, 2LMG, 2T ammo, active probe, fill the rest with heat sinks, xl280 engine.

Good hunting,

It's too big and sluggish for a 30 tonner with no quirks or jump jets. Not a fan.

You can get another half ton by stripping the arms to 0 and the head to 1. That lets you either get even more ammo, or swap that half ton of ammo I added previously to change the ER Smalls to ER Mediums.

Sluggish????? The Incubus has 99 weak points but that's not one of them.....

Its a fast light so if you're not taking a lot of mobility you really do deserve to die constantly in it.

Having played them quite a lot now its main flaws are actually heat generation as it can carry such nice heavy weapon loads and its very vulnerable legs against any half decent or lucky player.

May try it on my other Incubus or just wait for cbills to get another 1 variant to try it out.

This doesn't make sense, why not just try it out now? you can easily go back to your regular build, esp with the loadout save feature we have. Besides I know you have a PIR, so you already have a XL180 in the garage.

Personally, I run the 2 dual AC2s on an XL200, but I get bored often.

It runs plenty fast in a straight line, but it's slow at turning and it's a big target for a 30-tonner. It loses limbs quite easily.

Once I set a build and skill tree build for a mech I don't change it because it cost me to much cbills or I don't want to deal with the skill tree grind to get the right nodes to make the mech work. I simple money handling and time management.

I know but I just don't like regrinding mechs already mastered even if it's a few points here and there.

Why take an ACH when the Incubus doesnt have fixed equipment? It's clearly an ACH 2.0, which makes it a tryhard wet dream at the very least and a better investment in the end run.

Cheetah is a better knife fighter, but the Incubus is a better poker and striker from my experience playing both mechs.

ECM and JJs are necessary for a light pokers and striker. No ECM = you're spotted and a streak boat is coming to poptart one shot you. No JJ = you can't get those vantage points or jump over a shallow rock to escape.

ECM is overrated and not even all that when uav's, tag's and bap's enter the equation ecm becomes useless and streaks still kills you, and you could just equip weapons like erml and mpl and poke far beyond streak optimal range and still fast enough to get out of other guy's LoS and locks.

Even without JJ's you still able to get to some points may take a little longer but not much a big deal if you know your map and know how the enemy is set up and get some nice back shots or poke a bit. While escaping is a little tricky for no jj light even when a light with jj's try to escaping using it's jj's it still venerable to the enemy when they start firing back at you.
