I believe, that adding some repair points and evac zones will benefit gamemodes.

At the moment mechs just fight till the very last enemy dies. No repairs, no way to comeback if fail. I believe, something like repair stations will benefit the game. Or maybe ability to field fresh mechs when getting to the certain areas on the map. How do you think? By the way, Is it possible lorewise?

Could work for incursion. Might make that gamemode popular.

I just started playing Mech Commander 2 and yeah I think it would be pretty cool if you don't go over board

like for example I don't want to get into counting bullets that's two much

but say repair (limited repair)

Mech Commander 2 has you call in a repair truck but it only repairs what you have if you lost an arm it wont fix that

anyways I am sure people will be against it but it could be done you just have to be carful not to go to crazy

My issue with repair stations is that making repairs too quick will make the fights too "gamey". On the other hand, making repairs too long just might reduce the fun factor. As such, I can only see such stations as useful for on-field armor replacement, ammo resupply, and probably not much else.

Evac zones, on the other hand, present some interesting opportunities, especially if single-life QP was ditched in favor of "Endless War".

You mean like using the size of the map and placing POI on them? Putting Mission objectives and creating game modes where you have to decide if your lance has the time and should risk to go to the abandon repair bay on the other side of the map or hold the mission objective or splitt up etc.? Na, that would be too much thinking for men in a shooter.

It could be interesting but with all game modes they turn into Skirmish most of the time.I think only in Faction Warfare this could happen but even then with only 12 mehcs to have 4 go off the line for 5 mins to repair would be bad for your time while being hammered by 12. They really need to revamp FP or scrap it all together and start over with something new.

Quickplay mode should remain "quick". Repair station might make more sense on FP mode.

Repair stations. LOL!

"Dude, where you going?"
"Dude, I just took 3 points of damage. Really need to go get repaired. Doh!"
"But it is a 3 minute run there and then back after the time to repair. You still got 99% of your armor ffs?"
"Be right back, you hold them off ok!"
"What... you too dawg!...?
"sigh....sigh....sigh.... get over run and Die...." :(

repair bays would only work in a gamemode that has captureable forward bases

otherwise an assault having to walk all the way back to the starting base to repair would take so long the game would be half over by the time they got back to the frontlines.

and I think repair bays should only exist in a gamemode with ticket based respawns. repairing should cost tickets proportional to the damage repaired, but still cost less tickets than if you died and respawned in the same mech. that way repairing isnt free or abuseable.

as for evac zones im not really seeing the point. I dont see how players intentionally running away and avoiding fighting the entire game is fun. its certainly not fun in scout mode.

thats why youd need a new gamemode with ticket based respawns. so the game can focus on an objectives besides killing the other team.

faction warfare unfortunately falls way short of that. its still just a longer version of skirmish a lot of the time.

See I would go the other way entirely, more areas/effects that damage mechs, and more things based around deterring camping, like more clearly incoming air/arty strike.

I feel like if repair bays got added we would just see peeping/camping move to those points, even if they shifted about in a given match.

All these suggestions make the game more and more of a MOBA.

If by going MOBA you mean MWO actually feels more like a war game than eSport "arena matches", I'm all for it.

I can live without incoming artillery and air strikes being easily detected. Posted Image

Might work if you spent actual C bills in Incursion to reload ammo and repair damaged weapons and equipment with a timer on each thing repaired. Only limit would be C-Bills spent.

thats not how you deter camping/deathballing. the way you deter camping/deathballing is by having spread out objectives that force teams to split up and spread out across the map.

if you need arty/airstrikes to break up a deathballs, it means the gamemode was poorly designed to begin with, and allowed camping/deathballing to occur in the first place.

your solution doesnt eliminate the reason why that behavior occurs. it just seeks to punish it after its already occurred. the last thing we need is more arty/airstrikes... they arnt fun. what we need are better gamemodes that are actually fun..

Repair bases should only be in game modes where there is an objective or several of them that MUST be met before repair bases become active. I would not bother for them to be in skirmishes mode.

Zero basis in lore. Repair ranged from hours to days to weeks.

The MFB was one of the worst aspects of MechWarrior 3. I don't ever want to see something like that again.

MW4 had like changing rooms for mechs to have their outer armor tailored. But if you went into them too fast or not carefully, BOOM! But I agree that the players will use it as another excuse to bug out on their team.

They would instantly become the arty strike point.
While your mech was in there.
No basis in lore what so ever.
