It's a 30 ton light. AFAIK it should have a heat dissipation quirk, just like every other light in the game.

QC oversight?

It's not capped at a sub-250 engine and thus denied 10 TrueDubs, which is why other 'mechs get that HeatGen quirk. Also, posting in a phone is rubbish, I should not try this again...

Ya I just got that confirmed via twitch, thanks tho. It doesn't make sense, as it basically then soft-forces ya to run a 250 or above in. It limits build choice.
I don't see in the patch notes where it addresses that change, was it in the previous month?

Incorrect, the 30 ton Cheetah has zero heat quirks.

kinda yes, but no..

I mean - would you really run it <250, troll builds not counting? ;)

From what I am seeing in store, it's 180 cap mechs have 13% and 225 have something like a 5%?

Its been like that longer then I've been involved with the team.

But on the soft-forces you to run 250 point, couldn't agree more. This was one of the many touch-points that lead to our decision to better consolidate and unify the heat system coming up in the October patch.

For real? Yes I would, a 225 engine for instance, gives me 121.5 kph with 9 internal dubs. Still a respectable speed for a light, and 12.5 tons of pod space (+1 for the external DHS). Kind of the idea since it doesn't have ECM like the cheetah, is to give it more firepower to defend itself.

hope it's somewhere between the last 2 testservers, then? first one was totally okay, but a bit.. restrictive.
2nd also totally okay, but a bit too far on the too lax side concerning heat.

see that's why I'd prefer speed on that thing .. when I want "not that fast", I can go cheetah _and_ have an ecm on top.
YMMV, ofc.

Ya thanks for the response. I am looking forward to those changes, hoping it will really spawn a new dynamic and change some tactics.
