That's about what I have to say to this topic.

Even if PGI wanted to port over MWO to Xbox it is so terribly optimized for PC it would be constantly crashing on the Xbox platform unless they dumbed it way down on the UI or graphics which then no one wants to play it.
I have a I7 4.2 64 GB memory a Nvidia 1080 32 GB memory and this game still runs horrible even on medium settings.

@Deathstrike: Did you read the OP? Microsoft is bringing keyboard and mouse support to the Xbox One. You wouldn't be playing on controller unless PGI wanted you to.

How, exactly does it run that badly for you with a system with that juice?
I mean, I'm running on a comparatively slow system, (6700k, Radeon380, 8GB RAM) and manage to run everything to high, without any noticeable hiccups. Maybe it's a resolution thing? (My resolution is a relatively pedestrian 1080P)

Microsoft is not going to let any game onto their consoles that can't be played with a controller.
Related, I've played MWO on a Steam Controller. It's better than you'd think, but not good enough.
EDIT: Not so related, I'm also played MWO on my phone with a Steam Controller. Which is just kind of funny.

The Steam Controller is one of those little underrated gems out there. From time to time, I'll take mine out, and my Steam Link, settle back on the couch in front of the TV, and do a little MWO-ing. A very relaxing change of pace from the usual KB/M gaming in front of the PC.

Now a new game built from the ground up with the necessary resources and dev time? Sure, why not? Even Sony is finally investigating cross-play (due to the sheer popularity of Fortnight).

If you don't mind toting around a cell network capable laptop, you can play MWO on the go all you want.

There's an interview with Phil Spencer on Youtube now where he says the choice of controller and/or keyboard is in the hands of developers and they are only there to facilitate a new way for players to enjoy games. The developers will even decide if controller and keyboard/mouse players will matchmake together.

opps put wrong number memory (32) its this card I did have 32gb meme then upgraded to 64 gb on motherboard.

But why I said what I did is MWO has this odd problem with FPS I can go from 160FPS down to 30 FPS in every battle I play and even with Vsync it wont stay steady at even 60FPS which is a crazy trying to play games and your screen is glitching all over the place constantly .
And I run fiber optic for connection also I should have a 30 ping to there servers like I have to almost every other game I play but no MWO is so crazy unoptimized I have a 86 ping to NA and 137 to EU what's even more crazy I play better on the lousy EU server on high ping LOL its total bonkers this game is.

He said keyboard support was developer choice. He did not say controller support was.
There is no way Microsoft is going to start allowing "WARNING: Keyboard/Mouse only game" stickers on game boxes. No way in hell.

Microsoft holds XBox rights for all BattleTech games. Unless Microsoft wants to buy PGI, can't happen.
This is all IIRC, but I think is accurate.

PGI licensed from Microsoft in the first place, FYI.
