There were just as many scrubs % wise, as 2018. I saw a lot of players in the old videos firing their meta Highlander's regular PPCs at point blank range, or having horrible accuracy, and making other pathetic plays befitting T5 in general.

Only exception were groups--as back then GQ and SQ were merged--but many of the solo players simply sucked as much as today. I guess passion does not necessarily translate to skill.

So when I hear people say sucky players have increased in recent years, I doubt the validity of it.

More like a large portion the good ones left, perhaps. Only a year and a half ago, there used to be at least one player that was interseting to spectate if you died early in single player QP. Today I never spectate.

Do people say that a lot? The chief complaint I hear is that there aren't enough players to match make the tiers effectively, and that it's too easy to rise in ranking with poor play. I imagine if you did the numbers on frequency and type of complaint, "everyone is bad" would be a remark made as often then as it is now

Percentage is probably still very similar...

Difference is (IMHO) we have a higher demographic percentage that consider themselves L33T and are very vocal about letting everyone know they suck arse.
