Fafnir's best used as an Ambush predator, i find. mid or back line, or in a chokepoint (especially in urban environments).

let the enemy engage your frontline, then blindside 'em with the dual Hgauss and cripple 'em before they get a chance to shoot back.

it's great for teamplay, or for someone who knows a map well enough to know the best ambush points.

Yes, and that's more in line with my playstyle than "lead the push" or "sit in back and LRM" (which is why I don't use LRMs any more, since close range lock-on missiles suck now).

Yeah most if not all old school pictures mechs look very goofy to me. Mwo fafnir looks no better or worse than mw4 fafnir .

If I had to see people insult me, threaten to cancel pre-orders, call staff members idiots for being part of a small company, see "I'm done" threads, complain about events that offer free rewards, suggest that I give the IP to another company, and wear forum signatures that satirize my company on a daily basis, I'd use twitter too.

Agreed but would be nice if they slighty tweaked down the penalty on firing two.

Been playing Fafnir on PTS, likely against people who cared and have known how to play. It was pretty solid.
Now on live server i have to say Fafnir is stupidly OP.

Just walked through a whole team... 7 solo kills np np.

I think the best course of options is to nerf clans.

Wait until you're playing against people who know how to beat them easily - I rarely die to a Fafnir at short HGR optimal unless i get pulled into a brawl as I am used to mostly playing mediums where controlling range is critical to survival (well except the numpty team killer who shot me in the back this week... thanks). I like dual HGR but you really want support so you're not focused as that cooldown and range mean you need to carefully pick shots. I quite often use dual HGR in group play to lead pushes when calling targets as the combined fire weakening targets really makes the 50 point damage deadly.

Not that I take seriously any balance post which ignores that the opposite version in the same tonnage area is dual gauss, dual HLL or erll and 4-6 erml...
