Hey guys. As I covered in an earlier thread about MGs, I have been having issues after returning from a hiatus running my arctic cheetah. I was running 2 HMLs and 6 LMGs. This build used to be quite potent. Now I found it to be impotent. I was told that regular MGs are now the only MGs worth taking. So I loaded up my Cheetah with 6 MGs. It felt better, but still not good enough. I just tried my Piranha for the first time since returning which is loaded with 12 LMGs. I still found the Piranha to be quite a potent 'mech as I ripped apart some poor Fafnir like it was nothing. I might try the Piranha with regular MGs to see if it makes it even more potent, but that's not the purpose of this thread. My question to all of you is this: Is the MG Arctic Cheetah kinda dead? I used to run it with 6 SPLs. It was great until they nerfed clan SPLs into the dirt. Then I switched to 6 ERSLs which was pretty decent. Then I settled in to the 6 LMGs which gave me the best results. Now the MG Arctic Cheetah seems to be failing me, and I am wondering how everyone else runs their Cheetahs these days. Am I just going to have to go back to 6 ERSLs again?

You should be using normal MGs instead of Light ones, especially when you're mounting a low quantity of them.

3 Heavy Meds, 6 MG is the best option imo

2 Heavy Meds, 6 MG if you absolutely must have ecm

if you want to run like midish range skirmish you can do 3 ERML, 6 LMG I suppose, but I doubt you'll get as good results as the HML, MG setup

the piranha kind of left most lights in the dust, but that speaks more about how bad other lights are and not how strong piranha is

Cheta is definitely not dead, and is one of the better lights, but very far from the days of 6SPL, because we're not allowed to have nice things

ive been running a single hll and 8 lmgs on my shard. not as good as regular mgs but it does mesh with the range bracket of the hll pretty well.

6 ERML and melt rear armor from 400m away.

Personally run 3 hsl with 6mg give the same damage as dual hml+6mg but with a extra half ton of ammo and less burn time on the lasers to get a quick shot in and start shredding.

Lmg never really bother with them unlessI want to do erml with them.

You can get away with running 7 spl and eat the ghost heat....but yeah, the arctic cheetah is in a bad place right now.
