Why? The book refers to the writings of Jerome Blake serving as the foundation of both, old ComStar and the WoB (they actually named their faction WoB because they felt they adhered to Blake's teachings).
There is quite some in-universe controversy about Blakes writings, but even the newest ... interpretation of Anastasius Focht is from 3052 when he claimed having found Blake's original works.

Anyway, the book is some 200+ years old, so don't worry. I doubt it signals a timejump. Also, it should be mentioned that the WoB as a faction was founded in 3052 anyway. It's rather ironic that we get the book but not the decal...

I don't think a time jump makes sense. The Jihad introduced a whole new set of weapons and equipment, so the update would be just as massive as the FCCW-update, if not more so. I mean, a lot of the FCCW stuff is basically the IS coming up with their own variants of Clan weapons. But by the time of the Jihad, the IS is building their own technologies and so are the Clans. Balancing all this won't be easy. Also, the Celestials are nice but their strengths would not be accurately represented by MWO, especially not without melee.
Considering PGI needs to develop MW:5, I don't think this would be an overly wise choice.

Lastly, the WoB was around since 3052 and it was a player during the FCCW, albeit an underestimated player. They built their Protectorate by expanding in the Chaos March, and their (publicly known) troops were fighting battles - moreso than some other factions we have in game...

Getting some WoB items just helps connecting to the lore, and I like that. We need more lore based cockpit items like that.

i cant help but think pgi is throwing its abandoned plans on the cockpit item pile. i mean id rather have a jihad or an actual blazer i can install in my mech, but we get knick knacks instead.

Now PGI, please give us a Word of Blake Decal. I wonder if anyone has thoughts on setting up a WoB Hub? That would be interesting to see.
