Brilliant Video.

I have been umming and arring about which 'mech to buy in the Elite Founders pack (Unfortunately I am not cashed up enough to get the Legendary founders), this defiantly helped sway me a little.
If I am undecided before the cut off I will probably just buy Veteran as PGI are doing an awesome job and they deserve to be paid (Plus I cannot wait to play)!

Hope there is a video like like this one coming for the other 3 founders 'mechs! :)

Excellent video.

Really gives you the sense of speed and jumping ability.

I have a question on
Quote

o Each of which has a lifetime C-Bill booster

Is that the lifetime of the mech? How long you keep it on your character?

Basically what is the definition of lifetime?

Lifetime is lifetime of the game, or until they decide to remove the mech from the game.

I enjoy playing the Jenner, not really as a combat type but more for scouting/ lock on, stealing the enemy base, hit and runs and generally annoying the hell out of the enemy team, which is probably why when not playing the Jenner my team and I kill the enemy Jenners' first :)

It's fast it's manoeverable and I have taken down an Atlas, just running around it...

Are there anymore videos for founders mechs?

Seems to me pretty much any mech looks good in its own video:p

It's not. You'll have access to very similar mechs and you'll be able to change the load out on mechs you buy. All having a founder mech does is give you more bang for your time. But someone who spends lots of time playing will be just fine.

Lifetime means until the game closes. It's like a "premium mech" that gives you extra experience and money. I doubt I'll go full legendary, but I myself will probably buy the middleweight package myself.

More about pushing the founders program scam than the Jenner.

I agree its walking and running look very odd, and when it used it jump jets got even worse... Reminded me of someone using ghost mode to float around.

I liked the video. Much prefer it's style to the narration over the previous mech spotlight.

Kinda reminded me of a car advert. Though unlike most car adverts, I actually want to buy this one...

I will say this, though, I do feel it could do with more weight in it's steps; recognising the beta-ness of it all, he does seem to moonwalk slightly...

Cool video of the Jenner.

The Jenner is an interesting mech. The Jenner is so easy to under estimate by those not piloting it, and so easy to over estimate by those that are.

Back years ago when the first Mechwarrior game was out, it was adapted for network use. It was pay-for-play so all the the mechs from the 3025 Tech Manual were added as incentive for more players to join. I became a mechwarior in a house company working for House Liao (random affiliation generator in that game that could be overridden if one wished). The company had no formal name as I recall.

The CO of the company owned three Jenners, and would not drive anything else. He used to say, "You're not a man unless you drive light mechs." I wish I could remember his name. He used the call sign 'Acer'.

I was not convinced. Yes, I did time in a Jenner to keep the peace in the company. It really is a great mech. I believed then, and still do, that a mixed weight lance is important. We argued round and round about that.

One fine day, he ordered up a training mission. I did not own a light mech at the time, and both my S model Banshee and my Awesome were needing repairs. I checked out the company stock. The light mechs were already checked out to the two new guys this training was for. No light mechs were available so I checked out a Warhammer and took to the field.

Acer was in his Jenner, and the noobs were fielding a Wasp and a Stinger. During a discussion of my mech selection, one of the noobs noted incoming mechs. It seemed House Davion thought this would be a good day for a raid. Davion sent a full lance which included a Marauder, a Rifleman, a Trebuchet, and a Pheonix Hawk. Acer ordered us to attack.

Acer and the noobs went after the Davion Marauder, Acer made a dog leg approach, and scored some hits on the left leg. The Stinger and the Wasp both charged straight at the target. The Marauder fired on the Stinger, scoring a cockpit hit. The player character was "killed" without ever firing a shot. The Wasp also hit the Marauder's left leg, but was then disabled because a liberal hammering by the Trench Bucket and the Pheonix Hawk that destroyed the Wasp's engine.

I was out of range to hit the Marauder so I traded fire with the Rifleman. My ppc's tore off the Rifleman's left leg for the disable.

As I entered ppc range, Acer started circle fighting the Marauder. All three remaining enemy mechs fired on Acer stripping off most of his armor, some internal structure, all of his weapons, and his right leg. The Jenner was disabled even as I put an aimed ppc shot into the Marauder's left knee joint. The leg snapped disabling the Marauder.

Heat was getting to be a problem, so I put my Warhammer in reverse to buy time for the heat sinks to work. Of course the medium mechs were faster and were quickly in range. The Trench Bucket had some damaged right side armor. I have no idea where he got that from, but I made use of it. I concentrated my medium lasers and one ppc on the damage. I had to repeat this once more to disable the Trench Bucket.

I kept my Warhammer in reverse to make sure the Pheonix Hawk stayed in front of me as it had moved into close range. I was thankful for the range as my heat situation would not allow me to use my ppc's safely anyway. I torso twisted left and right to make hits on thin armor difficult for the Hawk. I returned fire with medium lasers every round and the srm 6 every other round to control my heat. We traded fire for three more rounds in this way. I finally got the head hit I was seeking. I was suddenly the last man standing on this field of battle. I stopped to let the mech cool. I surveyed the damage to the Warhammer. The mech techs were not going to be happy with me, but at least I brought the Warhammer back. I was teased tor a couple of weeks about taking that kind of hurt on a training mission. The mech techs wondered how I would survive a real fight.

Salvage was rich that day. It was enough to pay for repairs to both my assault mechs.

Acer was still CO when I mustered out of the company to become a merc. He never argued against my belief in mixed weight lances again. He still piloted his beloved Jenners though. He sold me his destroyed Jenner for 1 c-bill for winning that fight. I rebuilt it for my own light mech. Remembering its limitations, it served me well.

Wasp Noob no longer had a mech. Acer let him go as we had no infantry. Wasp Noob took a long term contract with House Stiener for a Shadow Hawk.

A burial service was held for Stinger Noob even though there was not a body left to bury. RIP.
