I've seen that issue as well, but with Hellbringer being put in front of the spectated mech's name. It seems to be based on whatever mech you were using that match before you died.

Correct. Used a Scorch.
No this is obviously a Marauder IIC with a built in Kintaro.

Fun fact from BTech lore: That's exactly what happened. The IS targeting computers couldn't decide wether the Timberwolves were Marauders or Catapults and kept switching back and forth between MAD and CAT (sure, it should be CPLT, but who cares if it makes a nice anecdote?).

This is how it's attributed now, in the many recons of the game, specifically its was the computer on Phelan Kell's Wolfhound.

During board game era when first introduced it was just because it looked like a Catapult, with Marauder arms.

Yesterday I've seen the "Sun Spider Shadowcat", and the "Marauder II ShadowCat"..

Last night, spectated a “Quickdraw Espirit de Corps”, and immediately had the incredulous thought: “Is that some loyalty mech from way back when that I never got!?” Then realized that what I was seeing was just more of this bug. Some odd combos out there.

yup, having that since patch from time to time.

had a "sun spider EVERYTHING" in my first game after. was quite funny.
don't care much about it, as it doesn't affect the game UNLIKE other things..
*fps went down with the patch, even after the hotfix*

I think I've seen this in every match I've spectated in after dying since the last patch.
