Not logical. You know there is a filter function which controls which mechs are displayed in the mech lab right?

Also mechs are a symbol of great wealth in the 31st century. You are failing the roleplay element when you voluntarily chose to become dispossessed.

I will ask you as politely as possible to explain your psychological hang up lest I suffer another three day forum ban.

I think if you aren't going full XL engine on the Javs, you may have a bad time. XL255 will get you up to ~150kph, with speed tweek. Your best defense is moving fast. Whatever works for you though Posted Image

I did a pretty similar build. 6xLMG (3 tons ammo), 2xMPL, XL255, 1JJ. May switch back to MG's, as most of my engagements were pretty close range, however the range of the LMG's can be quite useful at times.

I can only say that the JVN 11-F is fun to play but extremly ineffective. The JVN is not build for the facetime MGs need and lacks the firepower to justify the risk of facetime like the PIR. So basicly you end up with 2 energie hardpoints and a -10% cooldown.

In general I think the Javelin chassis could use a little help.

Really this one just needs a fire rate quirk and it would probably be okay.

For those who don't understand that a Mech that wont see the battlefield is just taking space instead of a Mech that actually generate C-bills, well its a loss of a Mechbay.

They came with their own mechbay , sooo you lost nothing .

I put on a second gauss rifle and 2 Er large lasers on my Night Gyr .

javelin best of the bunch. running 6 hmgs and 2 ersls.

the rifleman comes in second, kept mostly stock except the lfe and medium pulse lasers.

the gyr was the worst. it was slow and has a crappy default loadout. i put on some uac10s and replaced the medpulse with an erll (better synergy with the hll). buff its mobility and we will talk.

I had never tried the Night gyr, on paper I was hoping for the Clan Reaver, boy was I mistaken, to slow, cant turn, not low arm actuator. Yuck. pre-patch ECM may have helped it.

What does that hanging cockpit item represent ? Is it virtual mechcon bling ?

I also have to say that is a very ugly looking 5th anniversary cookie . last years cookie was much prettier .

I have yet to try the Gyr or the Javalin but:

•The warhammer is super solid. I'm running it with a Light 325, MRM30 and 6 ERmeds. It's a bit hot, but I can sustain fire my MRM from the relative safety of ECM. I feel like I'm wasting the PPC quirks, but the arms are just too low for a PPC sniper.

•Far less useful then I thought it would be. The JJs are just not giving me enough lift to do what I want to do. I'll keep trying though, my next build is a Light 220 with 4 LPPCs(for the lower heat gen) over dual ERPPCs and an AC10. If it runs too hot I'll swap the LPPCS out for a HPPC.

After playing with the Javelin to finish its event I have to say it sucks. As all Javelins it is super squishy with terrible hit boxes and easy to hit, if you try to use the 6 ballistics slots the mech requires so much face time you are as good as dead and if you don't use the ballistics you end up with a mech like SDR-5V but with worse hit boxes and without the quirks. Definitely a Tier VI mech.

Neither can I... if they gave it more torso lasers it would have been viable. But because they gave it only 1 torso mount, and the rest all arms or head, no good loadout is possible.

The high missile mount can be nice at times, but it's just so bulky and not worth the exposure. Unfortunately, this mech will probably collect dust :(
