Invalid Loadout - Too Many Weapons

WHAT?! Seriously?!

I took my Nova, decided to try out a build, 4 HML, 8 Micro, 4 MG and AMS.
Turns out, there is a maximum number of weapons you can equip, which is 16.

PGI, what the actual fk?

When we're at making sense, why is AMS a weapon? It doesn't shoot enemy mechs! In that regard ECM is more of a weapon as it can actually jam and disrupt the enemies when you go into Counter. Why isn't AMS Equipment when there is a limit on number of weapons we can equip. Seriously, what the hell. AND DON'T TELL ME HELL IS A CURSE WORD EITHER! We were not raised by religious fanatics.

the HUD only supports 16 slots, and AMS takes up one. That's why.

Pretty crappy HUD then, one of the worst reasons there could possibly be. MAKE IT SMALLER! Move AMS to somewhere else, it doesn't even have a weapon group!

The enemy paperdoll only supports 14 (iirc) slots for weapons as well. I've seen piranhas firing 3 lasers when their loadout only shows 2, and the usual 12 mgs

Yeah I'm guessing when they created the UI they didnt think that far ahead, and just like anything else that could use some fixing (or optimization) they either seem to lack the will or the skill to to something about it (that old story about switchable ammo comes to mind)

The UI is also "fun" in 4k in anything smaller but a TV, but then a UI that scales to resolution was probably not really necessary 6 years ago

For all we know, it could be a CryEngine limitation.
