If you block someone via the in game list will it prevent you from dropping with them on your team but hopefully pit you against them?

No. All it has EVER done is prevent them from sending you friend requests and it mutes their VOIP automatically, but only in the game you blocked them.

Does blocking stop in game text messages from that player?

It stops the in-game pvt messages you can receive in the mech lab, but not team/lance/all chat messages during games.

I wish it did, but it doesn't. You can even be teamed up with those you have blocked. Example. I blocked all of 228 and GOON due to them Not really (but really) sync dropping. But I have to run with them anyway.

Sadly.. no..
But it is very useful for preventing you from hearing / reading their bullshait.
As an LRM user... this function is immensely valuable. Much nicer to play when you're not being bullied by the Saltmaster on call..

The ones that amuse me the most are the ones who have five thousand or more games, jarl's stats going back to the start of the QP leaderboard to reference, and have NEVER managed to finish a month with more kills than deaths, giving tactical critiques on how the team has played, or you individually have played. And the only times they've managed to win more than lose in a month... you're pretty sure its because they were carried to victory by better players on the teams. Then you get the ones who go off someone's jarl's overall average, and ignore how many games they've played, or what their past three, six, twelve months performance was. I'd rather play with someone who does a wlr & kdr higher than 1 over every month out of the past six...than someone still coasting on their past glory when they played far more often and had better teams to carry them.
