The cynic in me is unable to believe that PGI is ambitious enough to push the weapons/tech timeline further up without waiting at least 5+ years (but I do hope for it).

It's more likely some kind of extra early adopter reward(s) or maybe even an in-game preview of its effectiveness (assuming their production timeline is far enough ahead to have the mech playable by then).

Anyone trusts an organization with an Orwellian "Trust and Safety Council" to act as a common carrier for information

Additional early adopter rewards announced after the window expires would be pretty cheap. The current rewards are cosmetic items that look like they'd have no effect on gameplay. No reason to buy before the announcement with such a vague "you'll see!"

im not going to buy a mech pack i didnt like to get a surprise which with pgi's track record wont be worth a damn.

But... it might be several limited edition cockpit hanging items!

It took me a number of supply caches and events to realise just how utterly worthless they are. At least warhorns make funny sounds, but hanging items obstruct a small portion of your screen in return for.... nothing. Every time I get a rare cache with an artemis C-SSRM2, event decal from 2013 and a 'rare' hanging item of some sort I can barely obtain my excitement at the prospect of yet another one to add to my collection.

id give up every knick knack i own if i could have something basic like crit splitting, ammo types, is omnis, quads, new weapons, any content what so ever really. they are happy to take your money, but ask them to develop their game and you get a mechpack (which you also have to pay for).

I even got a refund on the uziel pre-order after it was delivered because it was such a complete junk pile.
