This is hands-down the ugliest 'mech I've ever seen. I know it's supposed to be, but geez. Posted Image

As far as IS Omnis: not gonna happen, and nobody who's not a lore-hound is gonna want one. They're going to have permanently mounted IS XL engines and will forever be vulnerable to side-torso death.

However, if PGI added new functionality where you could pick an omni-configuration of your selected chassis AFTER the map/mode has been chosen (so you have some flexibility to adjust to the scenario you're about to face) then suddenly Omni's get their famed flexibility, and IS omnis would have a niche to fill that would counteract their fragility.

I'm a lore hound and i want one. thing people tend to forget is while IS omnis for the most part ARE stuck with XLs, they're also very fast and/or well armored for their weight class, and very well armed, like the Templar, for instance.

Exactly. :) I only noticed in your quote of me that I typoed "not". You've helped to make my point: only the lore-hounds will want IS Omnimechs, especially so long as you can one-shot a side-torso with a pinpoint alpha strike (which is why I'm in favor of eliminating group-fire, entirely, and introducing machine gun arrays specifically for that weapon). I'd love to see IS Omnimechs, for the variety, and for the lore, but they aren't going to perform well in the current MWO environment of high-damage pinpoint alpha strikes. The tabletop environment they come from was dominated by shots that were aimed by computer, and not always very well. Shots that would land on every possible different component of a 'mech, or miss entirely, while the weapon mounted right next to it might hit immediately afterwards.

I know what you did :V

Replace the Atlas section with a Locust or Sunspider and you'd get a spot-on recreation.

I'm not bothered by the look really but consider this: It's constructed out of scrap parts and is designed that way.

So to have more than one in existence means a factory makes these things. But they all scrap the same things together in the same way to make a line of frankenmechs? Doesn't logically makes sense.

So many people picking holes.

I have never brought a mech pack and tbh this is going to be my first one on payday!

This thing will be a beast its like a centurion only ripped its shield arm off when it took too many steroids!

I cant wait to get this thing that one arm is huge and could be used as a shield, recon that must cover everything but its legs.

Looking forward to the free one at the end of the month and then march to get the rest, Lets stop being so **** about things and enjoy the game.

I like the lore with this one, it didn't roll off a line all nice and new, it wasn't some painstaking rebuild of a relic it was a mech built by pirates around the best things they could get their hands on and it looks like it - I want to see a whole line up of corsair story line based mechs - imagine the franken heavies that you could make or even patch work lights.

Well, that's more-or-less what the Cataphract is...

(except in the case of the Cataphract, it was made up of parts that the Capellans could still easily make)

also per the lore according to Sarna's entry, is the "Corsair" we get is one based off Kalmar's Ravager, and in fairness, Stalkers ARE the most common assault in the inner sphere, so there'd likely be no shortage of parts for the legs. That and Thunderbolts and Locusts are pretty common too, so, you know, that's pretty much the core and arm of the mech.

I'd love to see if the variants once they're in actually have nods to other mech chassis, like the hex-AC/2 one having noticeable Jagermech-ish arms, or the ones with the shoulder-mount AC/5 being a chunk of a Shadow Hawk. those little nods would make this thing even better.

It looks great. I bought it. I'm looking forward to 4 ams on an assault, the number of times a clan group or FP team has tried to slam assaults trying to get from cover to cover is ridiculous at the moment. 4 or 5 of these on a front line driving should completely negate the lrm spam and return sensibility to the game.

And not just sub par groups too, good teams are spamming lrms cause its funny, so having an ams assault adds to the guessing game of what to bring, fun times.

Heck can you imagine the release date, everyone voting for polar highlands so they can shoot down as many missiles as possible, lol.

Nah, the bottom picture clearly has a hunchie right torso and a hatchetman/axman arm and an atlas head, that is at least 3/8 difference right there

Wait the left arm is totally different too, in fact only the legs and the concept are borrowed
