Bear in mind that it would be immoral, inconceivable and downright unforgivable that you get a trusted friend or unit mate to log on as your account if you are unable to access a computer on the 27th. Don't do it kids, just say no! There is a special place in (insert demonic underworld of choice) set aside for you.

You have most certainly misread this announcement.

The announcement is trying to tell you that if you play a Proper Qualifying Match on December 27, 2018 (or at least the time window that includes it) then you will automatically earn a couple of Mech Variants that will NOT be in the MechPacks for either Mech. Also, when you earn them, you will earn all the other items mentioned there too, such as the (C-Bills)/(MC) and so on.

If you still want to have Early Access to ALL the Variants of those New Mechs, you will still need to purchase the MechPack either before or during the Initial Release period. For note, the Initial Release time is at least noted by when you would receive the above Non-MechPack Variants, as the Mech flatly won't be in the game before then.

Thanks PGI! The two heroes you gave us last year are among the best mech's in my stable. And IMHO, the Corsair is one of the best looking mechs ever designed, canon or not.

If you have a friend you trust, get them to log in and play the one match for you. Hell, you could just tell them to log in and hit the 'play' button... then come back to the computer 30 mins later and log out. Voila... you're golden. [not very sporting, but...]

Last year the requirement was 50 MS, so no, you can't just AFK.
