Hello!
I don't care about many chassis beeing not used in S7, but I care about finding a match in finite time :-P
What are your thoughts on this one?

Should The Solaris7 Divisions Be Merged To Find A Match Faster?

Maybe something like this

- All Divisions are put into the same matchmaker, but you keep track of your Division progress each depending on your Mechs (as we have now)
- You get betting odds multipliers for fighting against higher Divisions (e.g. Div2 vs Div1 could be 30% extra, Div3 vs Div1 could be 80% extra, ... Div5 vs Div1 could be 400% extra)
So you could lose or win a lot more depending on matchmaker luck, but you had a lot more different matches and a larger pool of opponents.
Maybe the matchmaker will make it a 2 vs 2 if the matching is better (e.g. Div 1 + Div3 vs Div2 + Div4)

except the divisions are not simply division 1 is better than division 2 ect. they are grouped based on their performance against one another within the 1v1/2v2 nature of Solaris. for example an aniholater from Div one would not last toe to toe with many of the faster mechs from higher divisions like the line backer or god forbid a piranha.
the only way you are going to get more matches is A going against friends or B PGI makes the game mode actually rewarding. The mode itself does not cater to the main player base of MWO so the game play on its own is not enough to keep ACU high enough for it to grow its own following.
as for the OPs Idea this would probable do more harm than good as the few people still interested in the mod now lose even more of their player base after being forced into what will become meta 'mechs or face more frustrating matchups rather than decent fights. The latter would be further compounded do to the remaining Solaris players mostly being composed of competitive minded players

All PGI has to do is what MW4 did 15 years ago. Four divisions: Light, Medium, Heavy and Assault. Simple, right? That and a FFA mode as well. Everyone was expecting Free-for-All when we were told that Solaris was coming. That was a big part of what everyone loved about it. That was not what they gave us. So it is hardly surprising that no one plays it. PGI basically committed fraud when they told us we would get Solaris and then gave us this. This is not the Solaris anybody knows and loves. So this outcome was obvious from the start to anyone with at least a few brain cells (which explains why PGI thought it would be a good idea to bastardize it).
