It's avoidance. e-mail it in. It's not just rude it's.... well, embarrassing. Sometimes you're going to lose. That's the game. Learning to do better from that is the best part of the game. Intentionally trying to troll people and waste their time because you're angry at them for beating you consistently is really, really poor form. TKing teammates for trying to play and not help you troll the other team is toxic and hopefully results in appropriate moderation.

FW population is low. Hell, MWO population is low. However it would still be better overall for the game to remove, temporarily or permanently, that sort of behavior from the game.

Not necessarily so. This game in a previous life was once about capturing planets given the constraint of time. Unsportsmanlike sandbagging served the greater strategic goal of winning planets. Do people complain with they run the clock in football?

Obviously that is not what happened here, but a valid example exists from the past.

I wasn't around when that went down, but I have helped grab a few planets. When we push for a planet we try to grind as many games as possible to push the bar and increase our share of influence on the win. This situation strikes me as the equivalent of running off as the last pilot in a losing match of skirmish and hiding until the last 8 minutes tick off the timer. To me both are pretty pathetic and I don't think simply sitting outside the gate, or in the attacking spawn is an acceptable strategy, even if it could theoretically be useful in a very narrow case. It is just a waste of everyone's time.

we don't have enough people playing FW as it is. that group is SURELY NOT HELPING.

pls send it in / report, as such a behavior is not acceptable - it's no fun, for 24 people (minus the trolls), for nearly half an hour.
not cool.

are we allowed to publicly share their names and unit-tags here? we already got a 'wall of shame' in fw, seems fitting that we'd put some names on it.
it would also make sure that nobody drops with that group per accident or if so, takes the 'right' mechs for that and does the 'right' things.

Can someone PM me the name of the team that refused to go in, and the team that was defending?

(I play FP daily and I've never encountered such behaviour.)

Such a behaviour seems only to occur in NA prime-time since in my EU prime-time I also never encountered something like that. But yeh, this behaviour kinda reflects the overall state of the game...

btw
You guys can re-watch this match on reckless twitch account.

I would seriously have enjoyed it facing opponents that probably promise better fights than the regular pug fights, something that rarely happens these days Posted Image

Please don't, name and shame is against CoC, so censor any names if you post additional screens.

We were defending in FP, the attacking team not only refuses to open the gate, but also TKs anyone who tries. I censored the offending players, Wraith 1, who finally opened the gates, was TKed twice by his "teammates". Another player R53 was TKed for trying to open the gates.

The kills on the board are from me jumping out of the gate.

Very poor show by the Red Team "leaders" and a clear violation of the game Terms of Service. I hope that PGI takes action in this matter.

And people wonder why FP is dying.

Join as Solo, get Rolled.
Join as Group, get Trolled.

Either way, lots of frustration to be had. (Unless i guess trolling is their thing, in which case i hope they also enjoy the ban.)

Lol what kinda pathetic people are doing that?

Actually don't tell me I already have a pretty good idea given two units are WELL known for it.

Just get the match ID, email them to support and they will look into it and warn/ban as needed. Even better if you have video but not needed with a match ID.

Love to tell ya who they were here but because of the policy on MWO's forums and the fact you cant for some reason receive PMs on here Ash, you'll have to come on our coms and hear about it from us. I give Wraith1 major credit for wanting to fight us. He just wanted to play and get better while the rest of his team didn't want to at all and they started Teamkilling him twice and some other player in the game.

I will give you one good hint though you should know it easily. (didn't break rules yet) [Redacted] The idiots who were doing that are the kind who do not understand the situation they have placed themselves in. Not the first time they did this ****. Even in Boreal Defense when they had a full 12 man attacking the gate they wouldn't open it or engage in combat because we were there.

The sad fact of the matter is that some members of that team simply didn't want to get roll-stomped.
Is this an excuse - no way in hell, but I can see why that happened.
My opinion is sometimes you're gonna get rolled, but at least put up a fight.
But no one wants to be cannon fodder.
PGI should add a "Aw never mind wrong planet button."
Or a "Oh snap we surrender button."
Those would alleviate these situation and I've seen a few in FW.
A skittle typed in the chat not too long ago that they shouldn't have to fight elite teams.
Which caused me to spew coffee on my keyboard.
HHod elite?
Nah, but I see your point was my response.

If they were going to be that way about it they should have just logged out of the match as well as the game entirely. Might be the best for those players to not even bother returning to MWO. I actually had someone in a FP match say to run and hide in the last mech alive just to run out the clock, and straight up told him to f off I am don't flinch from a fight, and will engage the enemy on my terms. I ended up getting two more kills in that match before going down.

If you come to play, play, put in effort and fight to win, engage your brain and use it to help win a fight. Slinking away and giving the enemy the initiative with no plan or effort to regain it, will always cost the fight. If you don't come to play, to push to get that win, someone who puts minimal effort in, then don't even bother logging in, as you are wasting the time of others in those matches.

Game is in a sorry enough a state on its own without the players acting like cesspools in human form, but given the lack of in game reporting options and PGIs typical 'video proof or it didnt happen' approach most people that do this sorta stuff get away with it.

The game is really not in a bad state. Balance-wise, it's not bad. Not much new "content" besides the buy-me-mech-pack type, but otherwise, very playable.

The "sad state of the game" is almost 100% player created. People are just...bad eggs oftentimes.

Essentially you are advocating for the population to get even smaller. Is the problem the group that has been stomped over and over again by a 12 man, or is the problem that the population is too small to mitigate that?

As it is, I haven't set foot in FP - it's toxic enough in T1-2 for me. FP strikes me as "We really like stomping little guys but want to act like we only really want to fight tough teams". I've seen it in every PVP game I've ever played. I'm now one of the stompees, and it's infinitely less fun that being a stomper. But even winning effortlessly is a dull ego-boost. [Redacted]

Having said all that, TKing because you are [Redacted] is...[Redacted]. Don't play FP.

Rather than blaming the player base, I'd rather blame PGI honestly. They have tools to allow unevenly skilled teams to have a fun match, they choose not to use them.

True, players can self-regulate to an 'honor' system, but can you really expect that to perform as consistently as a game system that do it automatically?

You know this because...?

Your point is that there should be nice play in "prison" because the guys that built the physical plant should "already have the tools".

You can't absolutely fix player caused issues. They will always find a way around an fixes you have 'tools' for. And the fewer people there are in the pool, the more a noisy ******** can create problems.

there's also the best games MWO has to offer to be had - dropping with a good 12'team against another good 12 produces exiting and close fought games on a high(ish) level - miles ahead of what you see in the QP-que.
fw isn't bad, but great - it's just that for various reasons (PGI) the population here shrinks from day to day - and thus you see more people in fw that didn't belong here a year ago (see farmers, hiders, solo-players).

most of the toxicity can be avoided though by simply playing as a team - as intended for that mode Posted Image

I know this because how people play a game is controlled by how it is designed. If rock-paper-scissors had rock beating paper and scissors, no one would play anything other than rock.

I'll stick my neck out - I was in one of those matches last night (defending Emerald). My first and only time I agreed to not participate and it won't happen again because it felt really stupid afterwards.

If it's just being salty, that's what all chat is for in my opinion
