list

Nice to see a fellow lorehead.
Good list, but not every model is covered, and there are still some nuances (see below) and inaccuracies (CN9-AL is Steiner only, TDR-9SE is merc Eridani Light Horse, Steiners have GRF-3M too (by capturing a planet with the factory, same as Kurita got VTR-9D/K), RVN-2X and CTF-4X are Davion, etc.).

For example Hunchback, Orion and Awesome - mass produced by Marik, they are in general section only because FWL trades (or supplies Orions during Clan invasion) those mechs to anyone. So should they not receive a bonus, despite being a bulk of Marik industry?
I think this needs to be discussed, because it is a common situation for some chassis - Centurions for Davion, Griffins for Steiner, and so on.

So i try to convince myself to do a thorough cross-check between TROs, Combat Operations tables, and Sarna manufacturing logs. A dreadful task, that i always manage to delay for tomorrow :) Or if anyone else does it, i'd be glad.

Meanwhile, this list is a great example how complicated this matter is. This subject needs a discussion how close should the game follow the fluff. Should quirks be applied to every eligible model, or should they apply only to a select few iconic mechs per weight class? What to do with PGI non canon models? I guess they are canon now, but many P models have no lore attached. How to play this carte blanche?

While this may seem as a secondary task for CW, at this point in time it needs only our discussion to generate acceptable solutions to be presented to PGI, so guys, please share your opinions. Theoretical part is on the community, i don't see PGI diving in this mess on their own.

Hi Paul, as it looks like you really read this posts I just wanted to repeat a request, that was made several times.

Would it be possible to show Unit membership in the Friendslist. That would be a really valuable feature to keep at least some overview about who are all this people in your friendslist. Eventually that would make it easier to form ad hoc groups for FP.

Already have unit tab? and IMO too large unit if you don't even know who if a player is in your unit or not.

That's only your unit. He's talking about seeing the unit allegiance of all players on your friends list.

Working on some infographics as to what the new event system will allow us to do. There's some clarity that needs to be defined as to what it does and I think that will answer a lot of the questions that have been bouncing around. I'll post this and the link to the MM update to keep it all relevant to the discussion.

As for Match Score adjustments, I'll look into it with the team to see what can be done in the time we have.

Any more news to share?

Incoming post.

I'm not sure what the cost is for looking up player unit associate when loading the friends list. Will look into it as well.

Originally, PGI planned to make it so if you got to the highest rep level with each faction, you would be able to join the Wolf's Dragoons and you would have access to rewards like special Mechs, Camo and other things. As we know this fell to the wayside. In the past, I have suggested that PGI have rewards that are specific to the factions, like special Mech variants, camo, paints and cockpit items, but as we know, if there is a reward that one person can earn by meeting a certain criteria, but another who did not meet that criteria did not earn, people will whine and cry until that reward is made available to everyone, so I understand why PGI felt pressure to keep the rewards underwhelming.

Looking forward to the Information Graphics. Also, the PTS for Faction will be my first PTS contribution. Hope to be able to help there if possible. <S>

I weep only for the fact that he mentioned. "We don't have the player base to support this."

It's a sad fact that this game is dying. I love this game and will be truly sad if they turn the servers off after the launch of MW5. The cliff that the MWO player base will fall off of when they release MW5 will be steep. It's mostly just hardcore fans left and those are the fans that have prepurchased MW5. They will go play that rather than this. If it takes 30 minutes or more to get a match how many new players will wait? The cliff will get steeper.

Hold on to your dreams of a resurgence of Community Warfare. They are but dreams and will be shattered.

They can get more players when they turn down the grind, it is like holding a thumb on the player base. Run more reward events which they have been doing. I know that these events have certainly turned out more players for FW. I have finished most of the last batch of events in FW only.

invasion is the best part of this game in my humble opinion but the loyalty rewards are pretty thin.
i guess the LP rewards used to be something once apon a time but these days we often get better rewards for a frivolous weekend event than we got for grinding 1,000,000+ LP.
i look forward optimistically to the next changes as other recent changes have improved the quality of my play experience.

*please fix the horns they are laggy again. lag makes them useless in a brawl and reduces them to bling, horns are worth MC if they perform a function but they aren't worth giving away if they don't. please fix the horns, i will buy mech packs, thankyou.

Mw5 is a single player with maybe co-op? I know when i get bored with missions and fighting AI mechs, ill be right back here shooting other people again.

More than five years after release, ANY game would be dying. Hell, the 2016 Doom is barely three years old and multiplayer in it is nonexistent.

They won't. F2P games are largely sustained by whales, and as long as enough of them keep paying MWO will remain profitable for PGI.

Two words: No. PvP.
The part of the playerbase who was only interested in PvE will leave, yes. Those who find shooting dumb AI boring will stay.

Less "resurgence" and more "serviceability".

I doubt many will leave for good, but a temporary leave of absence to play the latest title in the Mechwarrior franchise. Though depending on the AI's coding it might actually be more challenging then most the current player base for MWO.

Mah boi, if I had a dime for every prophecy of World of Warcraft dying after all these years...

Could not agree more. The loyalist reward system needs a big rework, the current nickel and dime stuff is pretty much nothing compared to what we have now for events for a fraction of the effort. And yes, the warhorns are lagging sometimes, glad someone else have noticed.

That is the plan. They would be brain-dead to create a competitor to their own PvP game, so co-op it is.

Well, Dhoom can be considered pretty niche by modern standards, with no health regen, requiring skill and such, and there is a sequel coming... with reverse co-op, if it can be called such.

Many people cried havoc at the release of HBS Battletech, and guess what, nothing changed for MWO. People derp here, derp there as their mood dictates, and everyone seems fine. The three games discussed are too different gameplay-wise to create noticeable competition against each other, instead they even complement each other somewhat.

FWIW, I'm not trying to be salty... I have enjoyed playing for the last year +, when I finally had a PC capable of playing. Given the current state of the game, I would really appreciate it if scouting came back. Over the last month I've only seen it available for a few hours. With player base shrinking, having that option will be helpful, and it was nice having the scouting wins impact the larger FP effort ( satellite scan etc). The matchmaker improvements have helped a bit, but so far story mode has been a bust as far as I can tell. My unit has all but folded, I've seen several other discords that used to be busy become essentially abandoned. The constant faction changes are not good for the game. I know that you have said you intend to make improvements over the next several months to FP, but honestly rather than continue to experiment, I think you would be better off returning FP to the way it was ( with or without the match maker improvements)
