I like the double heavy gauss Fafnir, for if you don't like the heavies you can reconfigure it for it also has stealth. I also like the four uac5 Nightstar.

The Fafnir is good. The IS Highlander hasn't been seen in eons for a good reason and the Nightstar is... disappointing. The Kintaro isn't bad, I don't think, but I'd only get it for flavour (for example if you've been playing Battletech recently) since there's other 55t mechs that can do similar things

FNR-5 is a flexible chassis if you like dakka. FNR-5B is the way to go if you're just going to stick with Heavy Gauss. The others, i'm not so hot on, but that's just personal taste.

Now days kintaro is pretty solid, the 18 being the best with the 19 close behind - the 20 and goldenboy (hero) are very so-so, I dont like the hardpoint layout on the 20 and the small engine cap on the GB notably. The 18 is one of my best performing mechs and im deep into working on a 19 - making use of its narc quirk is pretty fun. (though I wish the narc missile was easier to see with out jacking effects through the roof)

What are you putting onto your -18 and -19? I got the GB last time it went on sale, using MPLs and the biggest MRM I could bolt into that right shoulder

With a 300LE DHS/Endo/FF you can do a whole lot with either - but both are usually set up as quick brawlers or light hunters that have utility weapons for secondaries instead of standard stuff. Pair of flamers on the 18 has shut down many a mech and a narc on the 19 lets me expose those pesky stealth mechs. 3x Arty SRM6 or 3x SSRM6 are my favorites but I have about it wouldnt be difficult to put in a pair of MRM20s into either.

With the 18 I have a RL10 in the CT I usually dont fire unless im about to die, the added durability to the CT outweighs keeping one of the missile racks safe. For the 19 I had to opt to putting one of the launcher on the CT due to the left arm being a bit too vulnerable to risk putting half its damaging missiles on - and the NARC goes there to track lights better.

Brought myself a Nightstar 4P, the one with ballistic spread from the arms to the torsos. Im running 3 ulta 5s and ultra 10. Im having a blast in it. Trading with Clan Assaults and I don't feel like I'm coming off second best.

But omg she is wide, I have a beeper in my head going off when I reverse. I get a bit of team damage when people push in front of me. Please don't walk in front of my Nightstar. Its not my fualt if I take your arm off.
