XL180 - Max Speed for standard Urbies, but similarly minimal tonnage allotment.
XL170 - Second to Max-Speed for standard Urbies, but has net +0.5 tons for a small percent of speed from XL180.
XL145 - is the third to max speed for standard Urbies, but it has net +1.0 tons from XL180 with at 84 KPH which is around the speed of many mediums and fast for heavies.
XL125 - It has +1.5 tons from XL180, but it has the same amount of heat-sink as XL145. It only has about 72 KPH which is just a bit faster than many heavies.
LFE100 - If you are using XL100, you're being stupid, as the XL100 and LFE100 has same tonnage, but LFE survives one ST lost and has +2 free-slot. It has 54-58 KPH, which is around Mauler/Stalker max speed. It's stupidly fast, but you'd be with your assaults.
STD60 - Basically the slowest Mech ever, at 32 KPH, and will likely have standard-heatsinks to fit 8 of them. But you will have good amount of tonnage to mount something big.

I mostly use XL170 and XL145.

I don't see the worth of using XL180 unless if i could spare 0.5 tons and get +3 slots for my build. XL145 is enough for heavy weapons use such as LB10X and AC10. I only go down LFE100 and XL125 for really heavy ones like AC20, UAC20, UAC10, and Gauss for the lulz.

The only Urbanmech I run currently is the K9 with an LFE 170.

XL170 on my "srs bsns" variants, for the same reasons as above. That 0.5t is just too valuable on a 'Mech that's going to be slower than average anyway, and I try to put one big weapon on each of my Urbies because... eh, something about a medlas boating Urbie just rubs me wrong. If it hasn't at least got a pair of larges, or a LPL or PPC or something, it just doesn't feel right. So, the extra half ton plus some shaving off the head and the non-dominant arm equals an extra sink or a ton of ammo- always a good value.

XL145 for LB10X/AC10 configs. It's a good compromise between "slow enough to feel like a proper Urb" and "fast enough to not be awful."

XL125 for the AC20 Urb I take into actual games.

XL200 for the Street Cleaner, because higher engine cap.

...but I also have a spare of each cbill variant running bone stock with STD60s and everything just for doing the occasional lulzy private match. Urbies are cheap, and I have more mechbays than I need. So... that's 4 with XL170, 3 with XL145, 1 with XL125, 1 with XL200, and 4 with STD60. I still need to grab another R68 so I can run one with SRMs, and at some point there'll be another K9 on the roster.

I may have a slight Urbie problem.

Yep, just these 2 for me for the same reasons. XL170 for PPC builds, XL145 for AC10/LBX10/RAC5/MRM builds

I used to use LFEs, but I find that despite the chassis' lower top speed, XL180s still work best. Urbanmechs have a pretty easy time spreading damage.

Urbies only appear to spread damage well because you aren't shooting them in the crotch/***.

On my K9 and R68 I use either a 180XL or 180LFE depending on the build, and on my Street Cleaner I use my Raven 3L's stock 210XL engine.

If you own a Street Cleaner and haven't utilized its larger engine size the Raven 3L is a nice companion mech to get because it's an excellent light ECM mech in its own right when paired with a larger engine and the 3L's stock 210XL engine finds a good place in the Street Cleaner so the cost of the mech can be offset by reusing its parts.

To cheaply get a good engine for the 3L you could then get any of the Bushwackers (except the champion) with their stock 275XL engine. The Bushwacker's stock 275XL is a very good engine for the 3L and you'll end up with three solid mechs with engines that fit well once the Bushwacker gets around a 250LFE to 300LFE engine to go in it.

I use an XL150. Anything slower on a light is problematic in this game.
