I went in fully expecting detractors, but honestly? Not really joking about any of my recent posts. Free For All would be awesome, Ready button feeling good to press would be fantastic, and I want to play the Bane. It's not as crazy as people seem to think it is.

FFA is not something I want to see. I have seen way too much cheating on this mode in the past, where small groups of friends decided to hook up and take care of everybody else and then decide the win among themselves.

It also seems to have more to do with luck than anything else.

I would rather see a tournament feature, where they announce a theme and then people play a standard tournament 1v1 or 2v2.

You know what would be cool though?

More tools to assist and streamline training with the private lobby. It sucks having a time limit and having to restart the game server after every skrim.

FFA is not something I want to play. But what I want to play and what other people want to play are two different things. Experience has shown people do want to play FFA for their own reasons.

In other words, give people a choice.

If you are not popular, you don't go to the bank, get to pay your loans, keep your office lights and your servers on, and pay off your developers and staff.

I played through the MW4 era. No heat, mixtech, perpetual respawn was the most popular online game mode on MW4, based on the number of rooms made for it. FFA not so, people still like to play team, but there were enough FFA rooms available.

At most I could maybe see this as an option for custom games. Definitely lolno for a main game queue though. Too much of the game's balance paradigm is based on puretech, heat, and ammo. A few buffs or nerfs wouldn't be enough to make those work, you'd have to basically rewrite the entire IP to the point that you might as well just make your own competitor to MWO that has its own new IP.

Respawns aren't quite as bad in terms of game balance but they would require special maps and modes built specifically for that purpose.

Personally for me, if you have 10 million playing the game, you can afford to develop different game modes to satisfy different players and expand the player base.

But if you have only 10,000 players, you really need to just concentrate on one or two game modes so you can fill a single matchmaking queue.

MWO's most valuable resource is the thinning amount of players. It cannot afford to distract, spread out and thin out its player base with too many game modes.

Not sure about MWO, but for MW4 it was. Experience is subject to a case to case basis, but it needs to be experimented on.

How would you know unless its actually been tried.

Not saying it will be good, not saying it will be bad. But you have to try and test it to be absolutely be sure of your answer.

Clan mates in the same FFA match can screw it up.

For all the negative experience I have had with FFA, I won't play it. But someone else will definitely will. Again that is my experience too.
