I was just wondering if there were rumors as to what the next mech might be. I assume we will get an announcement possibly next week.

Any guesses?

No rumors, no puzzles, no secret elaborate hidden messages or images.

If we don't get an announcement next week, it'll be a month.

They might skip a month since we're getting the WHM-IIC and Corsair. So if we don't get one in January expect something by February.

They haven't released a Clan heavy since the Hellfire, so maybe one of those is next. I'm hoping for a Battlemech in the 65-70 ton range.

If it's going to be a Clan Heavy, I'll take a RFL-IIC or Glass Spider. Don't really care which one, its the form-factor I want.

I'd prefer the Glass Spooder because it wouldn't have a sad engine cap (lol 235 cap on a 65-tonner).

There's one 95 ton assault for the Clans, and now there's 3 for the IS?

If there's any travesty for PGI to remedy it'd be that.

Argus.

Because we all know that what this game really needs is yet another IS 60-tonner with weird hitboxes!

Bane, or Longbow.

I think it would be unhealthy for balance, but I also think it would be pretty funny to see everything burn to the ground due to PGI's ineptitude.

The least recent faction/weight released was the Flea, an IS Light.

However PGI has followed a pattern over the past year of alternating IS and Clan releases, except for Evolution which was two IS mechs in one bundle. I expect PGI to still follow this pattern, the previous announcement was an IS Assault, so the next mech should be a Clan mech.

The lest recent Clan weight released was a Clan Heavy, the Hellfire.

So we should be expecting a new Clan Heavy next.

In other words...

My bets.

Pedantic nitpick mode activate!

The last 'Mech announced was a Periphery assault, with an IS techbase. Posted Image

I think from what I recall PGI broke their own engine cap rules for the Annihilator. Even if they don't for the Rifleman IIC, the RFL-IIC 2 and the hero will be something to look forward to. I just hope it gets decent quirks to compete with the other clan heavies, maybe something that will challenge the hellbringer laser vomit builds.

They've broken their own engine cap rules so many times now, it's kind of irrelevant to the discussion.
