Many of those annualized games do have microtransactions in them you know, such as the EA sports games and CoD series. Also, I laugh at those players who think just cause they spent thousands of dollars in this game PGI owes them something. As I said, it is much more preferable if MWO2 indeed keeps our inventories since I have spent thousands of hours into this game to collect the robbits, but if it doesn't it is also completely understandable. I sure wouldn't lose any sleep over any of it, compared to the risk of my current unit disbanding when moving to MWO2. Now that's something I am actually worried about.

I'm not saying PGI owes me anything because I spent money on this game. I'm saying it would be a good idea for them foster good will from their most loyal customers by transferring their inventories.

I'm not even saying they should do it for free. They can make it a bonus for buying MW5, or charge a nominal account migration fee. I just don't want to start all over again.

Honestly.
A real act of good will would be:
Stop dwelling on past mistakes. When mwo1 is done. Let it die.
Do dwell on doing better. I don't want mw5 to stall and suck due to ppl not st*u about mwo1
Do well on mw5 and mwo 2.0 being a good product.
That's how you'll get my support and my $.
Putting the shock paddles on this now even though I dropped more $ on this than all my games put together previously, is an act in futility.

They should shutdown development on MWO and focus on MWO2 on a new engine, hands down. This game runs like *** man.
I'd even go so far as to say shut mwo down completely and let people fester and dream about a new MWO. When it relaunches people will be eager to get back in the action, not to mention it'll bring all the original MWOers back out.

For a little at least...content in this game is very poor. All you get is mech packs. And the camos dude, you can't even get/grind ultra rare or unique camos. They need weekly game mode rotations which change the rules of the current modes and adds new modes as well.

Heck they could even do Battleroyal FFA with the use of Repair Bays. Consumables can come in the form of strikes, cool shots, and weapon modifiers.

Truth be told this wont' happen, money needs to come from somewhere soo, just a pipe dream...

The MW5 preorder bonuses have further convinced me that PGI will let us keep our stuff in the event of an MWO sequel. You don't sell all of this stuff and give Founders double the MC just to take it all away in a year or two.

Yeah, and to be honest PGI has always been very generous with refunds, bonus content, package deals and compensation. They have many flaws but that is definitely not one of them and I'm happy to give them credit for that. The pre-order deals for mw5 are great value too.

I'm more worried about mw5 being a good game or not, I really want it to succeed and I really hope mwo engine upgrade happens, but the mw5 previews don't look good to me and September is not a long time to change that.

Personally, I think ANY major change to anything in MWO would be a straight up SHOCK.

Judging by MechCon fiasko, MWO is already in "maintenence mode" a.k.a. Life support.. And it will continue to be so onwards..

What I predict is:

1) MW5 drops.

2) MW5 DLC1 drops. (Clan invasion)

3) IF MW5 does well - MW5 DLC2 WOB drops.

4) Only then, one of the two will happen... MWO2 or MW5 Arena (MW5 PVP).

At this point, after article 4) happens, MWO will shut down.

Sadly, giving Founders double MC is not "we wanna keep you around for a long time".. it's more like "we know y'all have money, and are willing to spend it if the deal is sweet enough" - Since most of the original founders no longer play this game.. it takes alot to bring them back into the fold.. So this deal is sweatened to the point of "we give you so much free stuff, and make you feel special, maybe you come back?"

Don't be fooled.. it's all about a checkbook balance..

lol, if they literally just reverted the visuals to MWO's beta, it would be a massive improvement.

It kind of makes me sad how many people don't remember how ugly the MWO we have is in comparison to what we would've had, optimization and audience and all that.

Given, MWO runs like crap as it is. It'll peg your CPU trying to calculate SRM trajectory from someone on the other side of the map, and it'll try to render everything you can't see all the time.
