In my plan to build my 6 ac2 mal i saw on the internet people using macros, i would use it too, but couldn't find any official information that they are, or aren't, allowed by the devs.

One: Yes. After all any firing solution macro will actually decrease your firing rate potential in the name of delaying your fire into a sequence rather than all at once. Granted there are many benefits to doing it, ultimately they come at the disadvantage of -- no matter how it is set -- reducing your DPS and removing your alpha strike potential.

Note: A macro in this case, as anything that can be used to enter a sequence of button presses for standard gameplay without automating it. I.E. Nothing that can run itself (like a bot), nothing that 'assists' or automates aiming, and nothing that can function while afk (i.e. a string of mouse and mech movements to 'not get kicked out' of the game while farming for cbills).

Positive Example:

The other Jagermech is doing alphas of 4 AC/5s.
I'm doing a macro of 2 AC/2s and 2 AC/5s.
My alpha potential is 14 damage. Even then I have a very rapid fire build.
But by using the macro, any singular hit is either doing 5 or 2 damage. I will never achieve the total DPS of firing it all at once... but in exchange I will never hit that same HPS (heat per second) either. I will never have that precision damage that I would if I weren't using a macro... but I will never have any 'down' time either as at least one gun will be firing at any given instant.

All the macro does is the same thing chain fire does, without the required 0.5 second delay, and it chains immediately rather than waiting for the weapon to "stop firing" (i.e. if you were to chain fire lasers).

Two: Please use the Short Question, Short Answer thread for these quick one off questions so we don't overpopulate the forum with a plethora of threads.

The official answer.
Very last entry.

USING MACRO SOFTWARE

Keybind macro software and hardware mechanisms are permitted for use as long as such mechanisms still require manual input to initiate and do not fully automate gameplay.

Simple Macro=yes
Aimbot=no

Generally, as long as you still have to hit the button at the right time to initiate the action, then it is acceptable.

I would like to point out a few things.

1) You can simulate the effects of a macro just by setting numerous triggers to chain fire and then pressing them all but at slightly off set times from each other. Once you get the pattern you want, just hold down the triggers.

2) Beyond doing it for teh LOLz and terrifying baby pugs, macros are all but useless. They increase face time and introduce a higher chance of spreading damage, neither of which are good things.

Quick fix, less macro.

Weapon groups 2-6 as one ac2 each, an then weapon group one as all 6. Then just run your finger down the number keys an hold down your fire button. Bam! Autofire ac2s!

This does work. In fact you can see it in action here.

3 round burst. Macro.

Holy-freaking-Gatlin gun... Holding fire after starting the sequence (identical to described above).

I love that people are calling people out for using macros. Macros give you no advantage over someone who is manually clicking other than precisely timing out your clicks. You can EASILY do this in the training grounds with 5-10 mins of practice. It took me literally 2 mins to master the jams on My TBR-Running Ultra AC 5s. Suck it up buttercup!

They do, actually. On a certain weapon type in the game right now - there is an absolute issue.

You aren't allowed to talk about such things freely on the forum however so I cannot say anymore.
If you want to see free and open discussion about it then look out Reddit - OutreachHPG.
