There was rumors of one person doing good in a pir-b few months ago. Due to this pgi nerfed it too just to be safe.

I do tend to end up with my legs nearly shot out quite often in my Piranha. With that said, I had no idea that all you had to do to get the game to cater for your piss-poor play was to pay the developers a bunch of money for the privelege of whinging to their faces. Just for that reason, I am now going to run my Piranhas and other Lights exclusively. It shouldn't be hard to spot the "Mech Dads", or to make them regret being such snitches.

Why the mech dad hate?

Snitches?
That's just such a negative loaded word. Surely you could find some better verbiage.
It implies you're definitely doing something wrong and I should shut my mouth or there will be consequences.
People who say that in my line of work are on the wrong side of a secure door.
So. Do pirahna users deserve to be locked up? I think not.

It just makes it less fun, and a little harder to turn to take a small auto-aim missile volley to the face instead of the back.

What if, instead of nerfing light mechs that are strong backstabbers, PGI were to code in rear-facing weapons and a rear camera, so someone concerned enough about Piranhas could blast 'em with an Atlas' canonical pair of rear medium lasers?

Been discussed before PGI says the game engine doesn't support it.

1) They're snitches
2) Snitches get stitches.

My job is backstabbing, I'll backstab anyone who says otherwise. >:0

We still find it's performance to be a bit too reliable and easy to do well in, even in pitched battles where a defender is actively attempting to destroy the 'Mech, and not simply trying to run away.

Reliable Lights? Not on PGI's watch!

Honestly, I was pretty disheartened by a lot of the other light changes too. The javelin change is almost neglible because you're losing a heat quirk in the process. You end up saving like 1.4 heat every alpha strike. In exchange it's losing an HP quirk. I would probably chalk that up to a net loss.

Arctic Cheetah: We gave small buffs to side torsos, but it's meaningless because it's still not worth sacrificing ECM and weapon omnipods. The mobility changes are practically negligible. You get more deceleration from 1 point in the skill tree.

Panther changes at least seem net positive. Although heat quirk on the ballistic and missile variant? Is heat a problem for the 10P?

I don't know about that. 4 structure may not sound like a lot, but that's a little over 15% of it's total leg health with survival skills. Also losing 20 degrees on your yaw twist is a pretty big chunk for a mech with mostly torso weapons. Plus the pir-2 is losing pitch, acceleration, and deceleration.

I would be pretty surprised if Piranha players didn't feel the effect of these nerfs.

Again I haven't seen a good argument for the fish nerf.
Making its weak legs more weak is just gonna shelve it.
Pitch is making me shake my head as it is limited in the first place.
We will see.

It isn't going to shelve it. It's still going to excel at abusing unaware people.

I'm not even worried about losing the structure, it shouldn't be good at dueling pulse laser lights.

Any Anni with quad ballistic class 10 weapon, or AC5 with RAC 5 or AC 2 with RAC 2/5.

Not sure if RACs can do ~13 sustained, but yes there are a lot of mechs that can do more sustained DPS than PIR-1

Is not ANY mech capable of the same?
I don't feel the structure should of been messed with but the other nerf was not necessary.

Meh, PIR excels at doing people from behind who aren't paying attention.

It's always been sorta weak at dueling other lights because humanoid hitboxes + face time = dirt nap most of the time.
