Hello! Here is my list of most desired Mechs for 2019 implementation
My basic Parameters was
- at least 5 Workable Variants
-Variation or outstanding features to give each variant a different flavor
-Lore Friendliness for those who care about such things
-Fills a whole or Niche for Clan or IS
-No mele Weapons
-No remakes of the same mech (2c, etc)
Assault Mechs
The Turkina is by far one of the most demanded Clan Assault mechs still not in the game at 95 tons its a serious contender for the top "should be in the game" It incorporates at least 5 different variants for Ominpods, Jump capable. carries ballistics, lasers, and missiles. An easy contender for a 2019 Mech.
The Kingfisher would be an excellent alternative to the Turkina. The mech has excellent mounts and an ECM variant as well as several Alternative configurations. Its an early second Generation Ominmech which means it would fit into the timeline.
IS side I am Really hoping to see the Hauptmann Battlemech. A 95 ton mech made by the Lyran Alliance it has Jump Jets, an ECM variant, and 7 different variants of the mech to choose from. An excellent choice for PGI to implement
You know it you love it, its the trash can of trash cans the king daddy of troll mechs. The IMP is a must in this game for nothing more then laughs. Sporting at least 6 variants and at least one with ECM. This100 ton mech deserves its time in the sun.
Assault Honorable Mentions
Mechs that could work but would require some Bending of lore to be vialble
Devastor
Tomahawk
Stone Rhino
Salamander
Heavy battlemechs
I have to give to PGI they have done a great job implementing Clan Heavy Mechs, for the sake of this I am going to ignore Clan Heavies because i think they have the most important ones in the game already. That being said their are several decent clan mechs out there they could sneak in but for the sake of the this I will be focusing on IS heavy Mechs.
The Crusader is Iconical and its a damn shame that it has not made it into the game. I am not sure if this is because of HG, only PGI knows. But all i Can say PGI is if not, Take my money now! It has 10 variants...10! I dont really need to say too much more here. It should be in this game as one of the most iconic Mechs.
The Anvil battlemech fulfills a much needed role for IS heavy mechs. A brawly heavy that sports ECM as standard. It also has a variant with Masc and of course Jump Jets. This mech can do a lot of things well and would make a really good addition to Mechwarrior online.
The Penetrator is my final Heavy IS mech that I think should make an appearance this year. Sporting 5 variants, 1 with ECM and designed for killing clan mechs with a fair amount of armor. Would love to see this mech make an appearance.
Honorable Mentions, Honestly there is a ton of mechs that would fit the bill
Caesar
Caestus
Blackhawk Ku
Grizzly
Guillotine
Shootist
Ostol
I could go on
Medium Mechs
Clan side was a bit easier than IS side. There is still a ton of viable medium mechs out there. I decided on 2 for each side
The Battle Cobra is a 40 ton Clan mech that has some variants with Jump Capability, Its primarly built around lasers but there are variants with Missles and Ballistics, The one knock I have on it is its side torsos are HUGE. Meaning It might not translate well to MWO.
The Stooping Hawk is one of the few Clan Blood Spirit Mechs that I think as a shot of making it into the game. Sporting 7 variants it fills alot of roles for a 55 ton mech. More humanoid in form its variants have a ton of variety in them. Would make for an interesting mech.
Is side the Medium I want to see the most are the following pair
The Men Shen is an IS omni mech and a Liao chasis. The mech has BAP, ECM, and a variety of Configurations that could make it an interesting choice for a 55 ton mech and a nice touch to throw it out there for all the LIao Faction fans out there.
The Dervish is an older design that has many variants by virtue of just being out there for so long. Sporting 6 diffrent variants and at least 2 Hero Variants this would be an easy 55 ton mech for PGI to implement.
Honorable Mentions
Clint
Huron Warrior
Wyvern
Enfield
Gyrfalcon
Nightsky
Pouncer
Sentinel
Sha Yu
Lights
THis was the easier to identify for both Clan and IS.
The Firemoth should be in this game. I understand about the limitations on speed, We dont care! We want our Firemoth
Sporting a Unique Look the Fire falcon is a 25 Ton mech that fills a good niche for Clan side. Sporting 7 different Variants I think this a no brainer for Clan side.
IS side there can be no doubt that this should be in the game.
The wasp is the iconic twin to the Flea mech. It also might have the most variants of any mech in the Battletech Universe
The hermes mech would be an excellent addition to the game as it comes with with an ECM variant, a Masc Variant, and a Hight top speed. A real scout mech if there ever was one. I think its a better spider if that make sense.
Honorable Mentions
Arctic Fox
Fire Fly
Valkyrie
Horned Owl
Hussar
Mongoose
Owens
Stinger
Razorback
Well thats my List. Feel free to poke as much wholes in it as you wish.

With the Crusader as well as the Wasp (Stinger, Valkyrie) I think that the Harmony Gold issue might very well play a role.
Although I have to admit I don't know what the current state of the affair is.
In the case of the Wasp (Stinger, Valkyrie), they pretty much siphoned off the basic VF-1 Valkyrie design and spliced it into 3 different Mechs with very similar shapes (and even keeping the name for one of them):
An argument can be made, that PGI doesn't care about the Harmony Gold issue too much as the Phoenix Hawk is derived from the VF-1S Super Valkyrie Variant.
One famous feature of the Crusader was the hip mounted (read: leg-mounted) weaponry, in that case missile launchers. So far we don't have leg mounted weaponry (nor rear firing stuff) and I don't know wether PGI would put that into place.
Since I am a avid fan of the HCT-3F Hatchetman, I am of course hoping for it to appear and would trade off all my Mechs in a heartbeat. And as for mellee in MWO, read this.

As much as the Crusader is kind of iconic to the game, I just can't fall in love with the potential loadouts. All of them are missile boats, none mount more than 2 lasers total at least that I am aware of. I don't necessarily mind the missiles but I always like to have a solid energy loadout to back up the missiles on just about any mech I play. Also although there are about a dozen variants, there is really no variation, at least not anything that is relevant to MWO since everyone just strips the mech and builds it the way they want anyway. The variants really just swap out a ML for a ER ML or MPL. Then another variant swaps the SRM6 to an SRM4 to make way for more ammo or a few extra heat sinks. Another variant swaps SHS for DHS. etc, etc. It is just the same base mech, with its equipment swapped out more or less.

Well I have 4 main IS mechs
First is the Brigand. 25 ton jj energy boat with some missile capability. Also it's the original pirate mech.

Second, the Lightray. Ultra fast 55 tonner with energy and a touch of missile & ecm. WoB mech.

Third, Dragon Fire. As fierce as it's name implies, x1 gauss, x1 lbx10, x4 Mlas, ecm with high mounts and a great torso shape.

Fourth I've got the Gunslinger. 85 tonner with tons of energy, ballistics, JJs, ECM.

Clan mechs
- Locust IIc, fast & powerful with great mounts

- Mongrel, Good HPs & mounts plus it's pretty quick.

- Black Python, potentially incredibly powerful addition for the Clans, would easily compete for best heavy in game.

- Phoenix Hawk IIc, crazy fast ballistic boat, plus jazz hands.
