Alright, now that I've gotten on the game I can post the exact build, if anyone wants to try it. This is the MASC variant of the chassis but I don't use it as the UAC2s are far too heavy for such extra tonnage.

With all of these cooldown skills, set the fire interval for the UAC2s to 170ms in the Fire Control macro and stand behind the nearest mech that's bigger than you. It's quite a lot of fun.

It is shame that only the -5T qualifies as 'good' while the others are at best mediocre. But they can be fun once in a while if you like flamer troll builds. The problem are the hardpoints, really.
Anyway, if you like mobility and gravitate towards lighter Mechs, the Vulcan is worth a try.

It's not hard with any variant to build a fast one with a respectable punch that can play the hit and run game really well. It does require a certain play style though. If you like the chassis you should spring for the BL. That thing is a beast.

Wolfhound in my experience way better, faster, better hit boxes and tankier it seems. The numbers dont lie as well, with wolfhound i can pull 500 dmg and couple kills if i'm sober ... the Vulcan i was having a hard time trying to achieve that.

Wolfy has better hitbox geometry thats for sure (and the assassin has its magical torso hitboxes) while the vulcan's arms are its only real defense (those puppies attract damage like magnets, I think the shoulders count as arms on this one). Its still a pretty well rounded mech, pretty much the definition of a medium mech - put a small engine in it and you turn it into a light weight hunchback (hunchback clone is a very good hill humper/edge peeker) put a big engine in it and you turn it into a oversized light thats a reasonable alternative to the wolfhound thanks to the option of jump jets.
I can say its 'very' skill node dependent this isnt a mech you can buy jump into and reliably do well - strongly recommend working down into mobility for the speed tweaks even on slower builds, the twist/turn/pitch nodes you pick up on the way make a ton of difference especially the pitch.

5 medium pulse lasers, XL, 105kph, fewer than 15 skill points in it so far
14 games
10 kills/11 deaths
4863 damage... average damage per game = 347.35
My one Wolfhound has 1905 damage and only 3 kills over 11 games.
For me, the Vulcan is a drastically superior mech.

Originally tried a 1 LL and 4 ML with LFE270 hit and run build on the 5T since I'd grown tired of 5 MPL with the CRB-27. However, it didn't quite gel with me.
So I bowed to the call of the pulse and went 5 MPL and XL280, and I've been enjoying myself. The 5 MPL doesn't feel stale since it is very mobile and agile with 2 JJs, unlike the ground-bound and more methodical pace of the CRB.

The Bloodlust is okay and is probably the only other variant that is worth getting. The other variants are pretty meh imo.
