Yah Laser Heatsinks, that could be cool or hot depending on your viewpoint ^_^
Linked with the actual heat of the mech that could be something.

Anywho, the "Development time" spent on the Glowing Eyes was minimal.
  • Bolt-ons system existed
  • Color Changing Boltons Existed
  • Turing attachments off and on Existed (K9 light bar).
This made it 99% 1 artist and 1 QA person effort.

If this was made with minimal effort then why do we have to pay 1,000 MC for a bolt-on that you have to take off and on like a cockpit item?

Seriously, I got it for my carebear and was extremely disappointed to find out that it doesn't work like a camo pattern... Really? I have to either un-equip and re-equip it over and over again or buy multiples v. just having it unlocked for that chassis? Would it be that big of a drawback for you guys to unlock it to a chassis like a permanent camo? Maybe you should have a talk with that QA person.

I haven't tried takeing it off but it should be a permanent purchase. Better ask support whats going on.

@Nesutizale: Grayson has an issue with the bolt-on nature of the glowing eyes, not a technical issue. If I understand him correctly, he doesn't agree with the 1000 MC price for a single item that can't be used on multiple mechs without swapping.

Ah I missunderstood. I thought the item would dissapear after unquiping and thats why he has to buy multiple ones.

As for the price, I agree 1000MC is expansive on its own but 1000MC for each mech of the same type...thats overkill.
I did say lower the price to somewhat around 500-750MC and make it one purchase for all mechs of the same type.

TY to both Aidan Crenshaw and Nesutizale. I probably should have been clearer in my post. Yes, indeed I think it's silly to spend 1000 MC on something that isn't unlocked for all the variants of a chassis.

I hope PGI actually listens to us and changes this.

they won't. It's the way bolt-ons work. Maybe they could provide an unlimited amount once you bought it, but apart from that, bolt-ons are designed like cockpit items.

I put it in general discussion today, but gonna call BS that they are SELLING this too us, especially on the Atlas, considering this used to be a built in feature of the game back in 2012/2013.

Publishers and Devs are making a BAD habit out of taking existing things from the game, removing them, then adding them back in for more money later.

Also 1000MC?! Seriously guys, not cool.

You couldn't change the color on OG Atlas eyes, though. :P

In the case of the founders atlas I sort of feel like its the equivalent of going to a car dealer , buying a car then the dealer removes the headlights to try and sell them to you afterwards.

Just give them a no-recolor exclusive version like the siren that one urbie hero has.

I've not seen a single person daft enough to pay for this bolt on yet.....

Also when you try it in the mechlab you can see barely any 'glow' at all. Granted that's due to the lighting but why would you pay for a bolt on that you'll never see other than free look in testing grounds.

If you gave the ability to have free look in 3rd person mode by holding ctrl key like you do in the cockpit then there may be some reason to equip these but only after the price gets at least halved!...

..... Oh and free on the Atlas......
