Are you kidding me? You can get 500dmg in an lrm boat by falling out of the dropship and hitting fire by mistake. As far as I can tell there's only 1 qp map and 1 fp map where lrms aren't great. There are some areas of cover on some maps, but you just go wide while keeping the spam up since you have stupid amount of ammo. That and shooting mechs with wifi is basically all you need to know to clear 1k with lrms every drop

I for one can't wait to play the old maps again. I'd like to see the old Terra and Caustic back as well.

New maps would be nice too but lets face it, we're probably not getting any for years- if ever. What we could get however is a decent number of variations of current maps- and I'd be fine with that. Just start mashing up the maps and biomes and see what we get.

HPG jungle pyramid theme. HPG anything would be okay with me.

Canyon Network snow, lava, moon vacuum, grasslands, forests, water etc... anything would be fine.

Terra Therma desert and ice canyons.

Forest Colony canyon (no trees), erupting volcano with lava and fires, Caustic,

Alpine Peaks Solaris City..... just because that would be weird lol

River City Caustic and Snow versions.

Tourmaline and Rubellite swaps.

Flooded map, with rivers and and lakes deeper then Mechs reduce movement values by x% [I'd say75% but adjust for fun and all] and if you have exposed [i.e. no armor] structure everything it holds is disabled as if destroyed, but still equipped. Bring 0 back armor i dares ya :3, have fun with a flooded engine

Getting 500 damage in a lrmboat on maps that aren't polar doesn't require being anywhere near "top notch" lul

I said that on 4-5 maps you have to be top-notch to get 500 damage in a LRM boat.. those are HPG, Rubellite, Solaris, River City and sometimes even Crimson..

So it's not "all maps except Polar"... Polar and Grim are great for LRMs, while Terra Therma, Tourmaline, Forest Colony, Frozen city, Viridian Bog and Alpine peaks are "manageable", but not great..

A good / experienced Lurmer can do well on most maps.. but you can't say that Lurming is easy..

Its, if anything, just as skill-hungry as any other weapon in the game, when used as it is intended to be used.

To me having the old maps return now, is likely PGI keeping the map team from MW5 employed while having them work out multiplayer PVP design theory while waiting on their next task.

My guess is they learned something they needed to with the engine to make it more possible
The fact its happening now tells me its quick content for them
Snowy Canyon makes me wonder if its just the same map but colder and with white pixels
