why are they taking so long for me, I switch weights to help, but yet I still have to watch that friggen searching ini the middle of the DAMN screen

is the population that low ?

I never go to the EU server

just wondering if it's because I have a mech in another match I left, because I didn't want to spectate.
seems to have longer searches when I do that
which shouldn't make a difference, awful coincidental

Depends where you live, the more servers you have ticked, the quick the matchs. 200 ping is not the end of the world.

ahh think I figured the way to speed it up, don't take suggested, like if it suggest to take light, but the assaults are high %, take the Assault, was like insta match, . . . taking the light, was just watching the searching, taking the assault, search quick and in

It would make a difference. Most the players from the previous game are re-entering the queue the same time as you, so the game is assembling another match from a larger initial pool.

I don't find the wait times that bad. About the same as other games. The queue times would seem much shorter if we were allowed to use the mechlab while waiting. Seems silly to force us to watch a popup while we wait.

Most people in civilization are either working, enjoying life, or playing something else at this time in the US.

In the EU, many people are done working, done partying/enjoying life, and are either playing something else or playing MWO.

You've got another hour before most of the kids and adults really get home and have time to play in the Eastern most part of America.

And yes, if Jarl's List is correct, the population even remotely playing the game is about 40k worldwide.

Specifically: "Current active players: 41,741"

With 220k retired players (players that haven't played in whatever amount of time Jarl's list considers them retired)

Note the list does include all alts, too, as separate players.

Well, I have all servers active for my searches and I find games within 15 seconds or so most of the time. Worst wait time I ever had was 2 minutes, I think. The ping is not a problem at all, I find, even when I am ending up on Oceanic. I have heard of a lot of people taking the european server off their server list, most of them claim the players there suck. Can't confirm or deny that. I have not felt that the games were significantly better on one server over the others.

they don't really suck, just play so differently, it's just incompatible team work

So you're playing in the EU peak and don't have EU server ticked. That right there is your problem. You're gonna have to wait.

True.

I would rather wait an extra 2mins for a game than play on the EU server lol. No one has any idea whats going on half the time and wander off/spread over 4-5 squares in the opposite direction of the enemy.

This should give you games the quickest.

Something was definitely up yesterday. It too so long the music stopped playing which was kind of comical. I only use the Euro servers and never experience issues with finding quick play matches. It only happened once but it was eerily odd.

I look at that, and think, it should be seconds, not minutes to get a match, unless 800+ are AFK

Is that 800 across all servers? If so, then you have to divide it between the 3.

Why? There is no gaurantee all people have a single server ticked so thus not being reduced by a 3rd. That number would be impossible to work out unless PGI supply data.

Anyway Steam Stats shows roughly 30-40% of the playerbase at any one time if memory serves correct (I remember someone found out that information). So if it says 800 on Steam it's about what, 2400 or so.

Remember thats across all modes (Solaris/FP/QP/Private lobbies) etc. So well spread.
