Really?

This thing is wide as all get out, structure quirks are meaningless.

This thing needs ARMOR.

I don't think I need to see a side by side comparison in order to tell you that the Corsair makes the Thanatos look like its been dieting.

I meant, like how when they released the Thant it had middling structure quirks on all variants, and only over time have they given some armor and and upwardly adjusted the other’s structure, etc. It would appear that the Corsair will follow the same pattern at least initially.

That was a surprise to me, as well. I thought PGI was shifting away from structure quirks towards armour quirks, anyway. What happened to that?

Judging by the standardized size of the laser emitters, and the comparison between Kingcrab and the Corsair, it's scrawnier than the King Crab.

What we have is an issue with perspective.

Now, in the mechlab it looks wide as ****...

In the map...that damn thing looks to be as scrawny as the Warhammer II...

I be thinkin' we need to see it next to some other mechs, since our mechlab doesn't have an orthogonal (orthographic) view anymore (and it'd be really nice to have one that we can toggle on and off.)

Just give it armor quirks in the CT and ST's like you did the thanatos and most everyone will be happy (can't please everyone). Love how all the variants are visually unique in some way.

This thing's gonna be shoooort.
Also note the 4 in the background.
King Crab covers a chunk of it, the not-as-wide-as-PGI-makes-it-look-with-this-HORRIBLE angle... does not.

Now compare the 4 with the Zeus image.

....It is almost as skinny as a Zeus.

Just saying... Might even be skinnier if you think about how the camera's actually pulled back, making the 4 smaller for the Zeus...
So the camera chooses to zoom in on the Corsair... Strange behavior, actually... this is usually done with smaller mechs...not bigger ones.

i love how I am the first one to acknowledge what you are saying and I am simply here to say, calm down and stop posting. Play the game more and post on here less. We have better shots to look at than the quirk shots.

Honestly there is nothing about this mech that I like. I am sure there are some Warhammer 40k Orkboyz fans out there that are going to love this mech but aesthetically it is not for me. Honestly I am kind of hoping it is a steaming pile of dog doo because I really don't even want to see this ugly, perversion of the battletech lore showing up in my matches. This mech just really damages my ability to suspend my disbelief.

So...when are we getting our Shadow Griffin?

Timber Wolf, Thor, Mad Dog, and Hellbringer cobbled together to make...Prometheus.

Corsair Reminds me of the kitty ninja.

Actually there's a number of minor similarities...

.....a lot of them....

Dude **** off with your tons of pointless images.

This thread is a salt mine for what is clearly a bad set of quirks on a huge mech that needs armor.

You mean a relatively tiny mech that you want to have even more armor.

Which don't get me wrong, I think the structure quirks are crap too, but the point is...it's a ******* tiny mech by MWO standards.

Its basically a taller Zeus, which isn't all that fat.

Sure, don't touch on shitposting images everywhere like you usually do.

You can't trust mechlab perspective. We can't see the depth of the mech and everything in the mechlab is fish-eyed to make it look bigger. Those torso's are yuge, and you have to be a certain kind of special not to see that.

Technically structure quirks on the torso sections can be used to absorb both rear damage and frontal damage, while armor quirks are always frontal. However, most will agree that frontal damage absorption is far more important (especially since your mech already comes default with a lot of structure because it's 95 tons).

No matter what the dimensions of the 'Mech are, it is objective truth in this game that armor quirks matter more than structure quirks.

Life of an assault piloted is measured in seconds. I dont see 20 armor doing much for this mech.

Over all people will just sit in the back and lrm away anyway.
This game is now 50% lockon weapons.
