Pretty hard to find matches when a poor game design decision like your idea could cost a lot of players. Not everyone has the time to group up or to do a 20-50 minute fw. Some people really have only so much time for video games.


Poor game design decision? Yeah, and you think that sitting half a map away safe and cozy behind several obstacles yelling for locks to shoot targets and locking down dynamic gameplay or making ECM prevalent is a brilliant design decision? Thank god you are no game designer

Sometime around mid-2013 if memory serves, of course LRMs were FAR less effective back then so it wasn't as hot of an issue.

So while I don’t deny that there have been some nerfs over the last year, there have also been some pretty clear buffs, especially in terms of the all important LRM velocity. The heat decreases and then subsequent increases are a wash with a net benefit provided by the dispation improvements that we all enjoy. Artemis changes I think are just as impactful to SRMs as they are to LRMs (perhaps more so as applied to SRM6 builds). So yeah, overall I think LRMs have been buffed more than nerfed, and certainly buffed more than any other class of weapons.


actually you made an error on the 2019 patch. Base IDF lock time increased by 10% flat, DF lock time decreased by 10% AND both are affected by Sensor range vs target.
additionally the LRM velocity "increase" is the Direct fire arc change because the arc is lower the move "faster".

AMS also got a 33% area increase.
Tag now gives IDF LRMs a DF lock timer (20% faster than IDF but 0% faster if have DF) making it a non-item for LRMs to actually use themselves.
Narc has issues with the timer being so low that you can only get 1-2 salvos (non-chainfire) before timer breaks.
