Apparently not smart enough (or not aware of slang enough) to know what you're saying when you say "schmot"... Either that, or I've been really too worn out as of late, due to the climate of Anti-Teamwork & Anti-Support that now pervades MWO... I really liked when I could relax and skillfully (yes, really... it's never been just all point-and-track-and-shoot... positioning and strategy were ALWAYS critical, even with Indirect Firing) throw a batch of Missiles and save a Teammate's life in one or two full chain-fired volleys when the time came critical... That time has passed, and a Hallmark of MechWarrior lost, unfortunately. So, could you define "schmot" for me, please? :(

All of the goals of this event are fine except for the "Capture 1 Tetatae Alien in conquest mode". It depends on playing a match in Conquest mode. I don't get a lot of time to play, but managed to log on for 12 matches. Out of those 12 matches Conquest was offered 3 times, and all 3 times it was voted down. So I cannot complete this event purely due to RNG and other player's preferences. I'm not even given a chance to complete the event. That feels unfair to me.

They could have included Domination in the goal and that would have made it more likely to even get a chance. I'm very frustrated by this.

Google Translate:

kaetetoa = caffeine
tetatae = trick

On both lookups the words are tagged as Maori.

For what it's worth... I had nothing better to do between matches...

1. Get of that ramble about LRMs already. I've seen you do fine in other builds and if you try, you'll adapt to the new situation. We both know it. Maybe, just maybe, people will start to add a TAG to their frontline builds somewhen. I'll surely do if i have an unused E slot.

2. It's a pseudo-slang for "smart" from the Girl Genius Webcomic, used by the Jägermonsters. You should give it a try, it's good.

Don't forget Assault & Incursion as well! It could basically have been ANY Successful Capture and/or Base Takedown, instead of trying to force the part of the Community which hates Objectives (which ALWAYS fails) into playing Game Modes that they don't want to play. So those of us who want to play the particular Mode, and/or those of us who just don't mind because of the extra (C-Bills) earnings, are getting screwed over because of the toxicity being shoved back upon us by those who hate Objectives in general. Frankly, I wish that PGI would just Remove Skirmish, seeing as pretty much ALL the Matches effectively devolve into that, which removes the need for a Mode of a Non-Objective nature in general. :(

Actually, I have not been doing fine, unless you use the word as a sarcastic acronym. For the last few months in particular, I've actually been (as a movie which I watched would put it) "writing checks my body just can't cash", and I end up with both of my arms jittering afterward, occasionally even painfully. It can even blow my aim during a Match, more so when I'm using Energy and/or Ballistic Loadouts due to only having those Weapons/HardPoints on some of the Mechs which I've earned, and trying to put up with using the associated styles of combat that are becoming physically incompatible with my own body. It gets worse when I have to pour on the extra adrenaline and energy, which then forces me to reconsider the Mech which I'm using very carefully, and leads to a decrease in personal fun from MWO in general. About the only Missiles functioning properly now are Normal SRMs, and only because a Pilot has to be point-blank to make them hit in order to avoid AMS now just rendering any Missiles worthless.

Also for the reference, when I used to use Lock-On Missiles in their previous state, I always mixed my positioning constantly during a Match. This resulted in the wanted Armor-Sharing (which sometimes led unnecessarily to my own Mech's death, due to how one has no choice but to keep the CT aimed toward a target while Locked & Attacking, unlike where Ballistics/PPCs can fire-and-twist-away) and some of getting my own Locks. But, I could not safely always remain exposed to deliver volleys, as Enemy Teams will always try to take out the Suppressive Fire Support as soon as possible. I would thank people when I could remember to do so for providing what I needed to help them, and hoped they got some rather good payment for their efforts. (However, that got to be less so as the Community over time ended up having more and more toxic & rude players who would instead hurt their own Team by various selfish actions, including facehugging and not Locking Targets even for their own benefit of finding where the Enemy is weak... It's really hard to thank others who were nothing but rude when you're trying to provide covering fire support just to help them move in and get what they want... The climate of the MWO Community was far better about three years ago!) MWO was far better when people were more willing to give to their Teammates in a non-one-sided manner, and also more willing to have courtesy and general respect towards each other's combat styles. Regrettably however, that mechanic has been somewhat washed from the game as one can not give as well with Lock-On Missiles as they're being given to in order to help another Pilot. Sure, the idea of enhancing Direct-Fire & Line-Of-Sight is a great idea, and I supported that part during the Missile PTS, as well as still think that is a good thing now. But, I knew back then that hurting Indirect Fire & Missile Health was two of the things that could rather nastily damage and/or destroy MWO, and while the latter unwanted result of destruction may not have outrightly happened, MWO has most certainly been near-permanently maimed. I really wish PGI's Developers would tell toxic whiners to start using their brains, instead of breaking from the whiners' pressure.

I've also suffered the unfortunate luck in Real Life of being angrily told by another MWO Pilot whose body is in worse condition than mine that they have given up on playing MWO specifically because the game has now been redesigned into effectively pushing out those with Medical Problems. (By the way, I'm talking the kind of people here that don't have enough natural maximum Real Life ability left for properly exposing their Mech for more than 2 seconds, which they happen to be one of.) While the Lock-On Missiles were designed before in a reasonable manner, they could tolerate the lack of Teamwork that is found in Matches in general, but losing what they needed from Lock-On Missiles has been the breaking point for them. Until the Lock-On Missiles are fixed back to a reasonable level, they won't play, and they're not willing to hurt themselves over MWO at all. It was rather sad that I had to hear their rightfully justified anger over the mess, and I frankly can't blame them for feeling the way they do. What has happened is the equivalent of an unjustifiable & unreasonable kick to their face, as it has effectively ejected them from MWO completely.

By the way, don't worry... While this may be a "sore spot" for myself as well, I won't be ranting about Lock-On Missiles with every damn post. I have the feeling I'm sort of ranting to the proverbial Choir anyway on this subject, so you have my apologies for your ears getting singed here. Heck, when MWO gets to the point of shoving me out (which probably isn't more than a few days off now, as I'll stop long before my abilities are deader-than-a-doornail), I may very much disappear without any more of a trace than a last post and immediate vanish by my own hands. :mellow:

Other people, after this long? It seems to take a rather unusually high level of intelligence in people to even touch Support Equipment like TAG/NARC/UAVs and have them on a Mech. Unfortunately, us smart folks are a dying breed, at least from what I can tell.

It takes a freaking Event with TAG/NARC Challenge Requirements to push people into having to use one to complete it, and results in backlash from all those in the Community who are 100% selfishly toxic, as they won't equip anything that doesn't help them do damage from their own Mech faster. Instead, they'll rudely tell people "Get your own Locks!", when a particular Mech Pilot (due to Real Life limits in their ability, as mentioned earlier) and/or their Tactics/Strategy simply do not accommodate that at all, and the Mech Pilot with the Lock-On Missiles wants to actually use TeamWork & Communication to win a Match. It's madness that they're bent on dying if they can't get away with not calling on other people's helpfulness. These selfishly toxic whiners are acting like they want to play an early version of "Battlefield 2" or "Halo" or "Counter-Strike" or "Call Of Duty", but with BattleMechs... when this is supposed to be MechWarrior and NOT those other games. In essence, they want something with a "one-man-army nature, brawling madness, promotion of glory-style facetank killing that blocks Teammates from assisting, no need for TeamWork, ability to function like non-communicating cats who can do whatever they want and still win, easy split-second kills, no Strategy, no Tactics, nor any real thinking needed at all", and they're slowly succeeding in converting MWO into something reminiscing Hawken when it's actually not meant to be that. These selfishly toxic whiners very awfully do not understand that they "can not have their cake and eat it too" as the old saying goes, and have continued to drive MWO into the ground hard. Like, PGI might as well take the "MechWarrior" title off at this rate, and pick something else to put there.

Quite frankly, it was unconscionable & wrong to hurt Lock-On Missile users (particularly Indirect Fire ones) because other players were utterly not willing to learn and use the various counters to that Weaponry in the MWO game. If those who won't use/equip the counters then don't want to learn, they should get the repercussions of their actions to make them learn to use things, and not a free dumb-down of MWO to let them shrug stuff off. PGI can not get the Time-To-Kill right until people are more willing to operate in a Damage-Per-Second Style, and not as wanting to just use and get away with High Alpha Bursts from their weapons. It just makes me boiling mad with how toxic whiners have managed to make PGI's Developers reduce the game into something it was never supposed to be. Heck, the following emoji is not aimed at you, but describes how angry it can make me that Tactics & Strategy have been thrown out the window in favor of brawls... :angry:

...I think you hit it squarely on the head in advance, CyanEyd. I suppose when I finish leaving MWO, about all I will have left for choices are WebComics and Single Player Minigames. Of course, that's if I don't give up on technology in general and consider computers a curse to the Human species. Given my experience with things revolving around computers being in a constant downspiral over the last 30 years, that is far more likely to happen right now than I wanted to think of it ever being a possibility. It seems like for every great idea that comes along, there have always been at least a thousand people wanting to ruin it for their personal gain and everyone else's suffering. :unsure:

...and now I need to jump back to the battlefields of MWO, for there are Tetatae Feathers to acquire! Although, I would seriously like to know how us humans failed to notice them laying about in our Mechs, particularly when one has to upkeep their piloting knowledge. Really... <*takes on a "Lord Shaxx" (Destiny Series' Crucible Manager) voice for a brief moment*> How DOES that happen? -_-

That was cool, thanks. I knocked this one and the Dadbot one out yesterday evening. It would have been really fast, too, if it wasn't for a bad run of luck I had gathering 'feathers'. I did all of the other objectives within a few matches.
