I played MWO in early access and beyond, and there have been some changes to the game that hurt the experience in a big way for me. I will address them in individual posts.
Problem: This has probably been talked about many times over and beaten to death, but for good reason. The Gauss Rifle charge mechanic should never have happened. I get that you wanted to fix the poptarting pinpoint damage meta that existed at the time, but that didn't fix it, the projectile speed changes for Gauss and PPCs did, and yet, you didn't change Gauss back. That change alone ruined many of my mech builds, made the game less fun for me, and also made 5 of my friends that I had playing the game with me, quit, never to return.
Solution: Restore original Gauss firing. 1 click, 1 shot. None of this charge business. It just isn't fun, nor is it intuitive to new players.

You're not wrong. On the other hand, it does help diversify weapons adding a deeper element to how weapons are used. It's easy to dismiss this as unimportant. But I think it matters.
I personally think it makes the weapon more fun to use. If it were to disappear however, I'd have no complaints either way. This topic depends on how many people really care about the charge function.
You may want to make this a poll, to see how many players it affects negatively.

The other thing that makes no sense about this is that the guass rifle is suppose to explode because the charged capacitors explode, but since we have to charge up the weapon it still explodes?????? that makes no sense if we keep the charge mechanic the guass rifle shouldn't explode, the whole reason for the exploding guass rifle was because of the push button to shoot thing....so why was the explosion thing kept!?!?!?
I wouldn't mind either if the charge up thing was removed, but what would go in place of the charge up skills in the skill tree? reduced guass explosion damage? Guass cooldown reduction? guass rifle ammo?

I find the charge incredibly fun. I have standard ballistics and PPCs if I want instant firing.
