

Hyper Assault Gauss Rifles

They could be like RACs.... or burst fire gauss, or burst fire Gauss/lbx hybrid?
I was also thinking that they could take the charge up mechanic and give them some intermediate charge levels. For instance (below values are place holders just to get the concept across):
For HAG 40
0.5 seconds, 1 shot, 10 damage
1 second, 2 shot burst, 20 damage
1.5 seconds, 3 shot burst, 30 damage
2 seconds, 4 shot burst, 40 damage
Or something like that? I don't know, but it would be cool to have something new and interesting like that!

Likely won't be considered until the current round of mech retrofits (for civil war weapon models) complete...

Be nice to start getting new equipment in general help breathe some new life into the mechlab again. Plus HAG's behave more like a ballistic mrm with charage.

Charge-up ballistic MRMs would be fine. I guess we can give basically any other Gauss-based weapons (AP Gauss, Magshot, HAG, Silver Bullet, etc.) the charge mechanic as a part of what defines their "Gaussy-ness."

Agreed especially on the Clan side, since all their new stuff basically behaved like old stuff with different stats.

I wish PGI undid it's clan laser nerfs, general PPC nerfs and the gauss rifle charge up time mechanics since I'm growing tired of the ballistic auto cannon meta for quite some time now. On the up side I am enjoying the LRM changes since the LOS mechanic feels fresh to me at least.

I honestly could live with them reusing existing weapon models for most of them. More concerned with the function. I honestly don't usually have the time or inclination to make a visual check of an enemy's weapons.
