True. There needs to be some kind of threat that prevents pilots from just cheesing matches with mechs too short to be shot by the standard competitors in their division.
Maybe all mechs should just get an additional sixty degrees of torso pitch in Solaris, if it's too hard to add a feature where a mech sufficiently small can be crushed if it blocks a large mech for too long.
Give 'em four seconds to back off or allow the assault mech to step through the cockpit.
