This puts me in the mood to play today.
Hunchbacks hold up well. Get my victor out. Bring out a highlander. So many fun, old IS mechs.

After not playing since beta, I came back to MWO about a month ago, with the only mech I managed to buy with CB before I left; A Hunchback 4SP.
When I first came back it was 4x mlas, one slas, and 2 SRM6's with Artemis... and an unexplained ton of streak ammo that haunts me to this day. It preformed... poorly to say the least; not enough range to poke n' shoot and not enough speed to hit-and-run up close. Now it's 3 ERmlas, 2 MRM 20's, which is much better, and saved from going to the nostalgia storage till I've at least earned it the 91 skill points.
PS Yes I'm aware that a single MRM40 would save me two tons and let me fill all the energy hardpoints, but the appeal of the 4SP to me- both then and today- was the even distribution of hardpoints and the fact I wouldn't be down to 2 lasers the moment I lost my RT. Though I am thinking of a 30/10 split that would put the 30 on one side and the extra mlas on the other.

I run my 4SP with 4xML and 2xMRM20. If you want a ML+MRM40 build, then the HBK-4J better (since you can strip the arms and still have 4 energy hardpoints to use), with the obvious downside of having most weapons placed in your RT.

Brought out my old Highlanders out recently, got really wooped fast out there.
I think I'll stick with the newer mechs.

I have a Shawn Michaels themed HBK that I play sometimes (8ERML 1LL LFE 250 17 double heatsinks):

I still play my Jenner-F pretty frequently these days. Its not my best performing light but its still my favorite and is by far my most played mech.

The 4P is still such a sweet mech. I was skeptical when they gave it a medium laser HSL quirk but after a few matches I like what it added, allowing to fire the head laser in the same group as the 6 RT hard points and letting the arms be their own isolated group.
Given all the green lasers I decked mine out in full Saint Patty's Day style to contrast with my Christmas themed 4G. Speaking of which, can we get a Santa hat bolt-on?
