Why? Stealth armor on the ECM Nightstar isn't anything to write home about, not sure why THAT would be a reason to buy it. And then 2 Gauss plus an IS ERPPC is pretty underwhelming for a 100 ton assault... Not going to expect high damage scores out of that one.

Not effective no, but possibly a good laugh.

So I noticed they put the -6S, -4HP, and -4L in Division 1 in Solaris. Interesting, I guess they are expecting those to be good? I supposed I can see the -4HP because of all the missiles but I thought the -6S, and -4L looked pretty lackluster based on the quirks and HPs.

Yup figured it would be D1 for the missile variant, which means it's up against poor old Scorch among other things. Best I did with Scorch was 1650 in season 1, it just couldn't handle Annihilators but anything else got wrecked.

@JKFletcher, Yes it does. And it can do PPGG with the ghost heat penalty of 17.

Meanwhile the one variant that had great brawling potential gets **** on with crappy agility. Thanks PGI.

the only IS 100 tonner without any armor quirks? why this mech, its hardpoints arent that good and all but one variant can have their right torso torn off with no problems.

some of the variants are as agile as Anni (the only reason that even works is due to Anni's quirks). i cant see it outdoing the King Crab or Fafnir let alone the Atlas or Annihilator.

No, the Atlas S lacks armor quirks and the Kodiaks dont have armor quirks. But the Marauder 4HP has both worse agility and no armor or structure quirk. It is like they want us to boat lurms on it.

So no quirks and anni level of agility to kill the potential of the only unique variant, discouraging brawl and encouraging lrms on it. Good luck with preorders, i guess.

Just a note on the quirks for the MAD-4L:

An earlier image of the 'Mech showed it coming with a native Stealth Armor Cooldown quirk. This was an error and has been corrected in the countdown screen shot.

The previous image was taken earlier in the production of this patch when we where hoping to provide it with this quirk for release, but much like us wanting to target some Rocket Launcher quirks for the Corsair for release, the native quirk did not make the final cut for an April release and as such will not be present in the initial release for the 'Mech.

We apologize for the incorrect image initially released with the countdown.

From an inworld-logic point of view:
The corsair getting no armour but massive structure quirks made a bunch of sense to represent is being a pile of scrap somehow running buy Ork gestalt field power or something.
But an actual Mech produced in actual, modern and civilizes factories of the ruling houses should have as good an armour-to-structure balance as any of its equivalents, i.e. Kingcrabs and Atlases. If it has better geometry then it could have less quirks overall (or leave it at giving it as bad mobility as it is getting), but the balance should stay about the same.
Treating it like a pile of scrap doesn’t fit in any case.

Concerning the overall bad quirks, I can imagine that many people preordered it because many (like me) were waiting for this gorgeous robot and many more made use of the lucrative MW5 offer, so we’ll see many in the game, and therefore PGI was afraid of over-buffing it and rather risked making it too bad than too good at the start.

But still, things have to make sense in the first place and can be still balanced after they do.

...Chris. Honest question. Compare this mech to other IS 100 tonners. Compare it to the Fafnir. Do you honestly believe that this release state is strong enough to match up with those mechs?

Everyone else: "OMG WHY ONLY STRUCTURE QUIRKS STRUCTURE QUIRKS SUCK WE WANT ARMOUR WHAT ARE YOU DOING????"
Me: "Cool, that's 23 more points of overheat damage I can take to the CT"
Also, I really really really hope they worked on the walk animation a bit more with this one. Another Nightstar fiasco would be the biggest let down of the year

EDIT: People are talking about the Solaris divisions but I'm blind today and can't see them?

What about the armor, did you fix the typo where none of the variants have armor quirks, especially the ones with the bullet catcher up top? *smile*

Wait a second. . . . . . Why MAD-4HP is not have any bonus structure quirks???

That's insane.

At least, give to CT 23 RT 16 LT 16 structure quirks for MAD-4HP.

and it has ******** agility stats. It will be slower AND more fragile.

It can't shield well with its arms so i would at least give it some side torso armor quirks

Good thing I didn't preorder, even though the 4L is pretty tempting.
