I don't really see how this will have any effect on FW at all... Most people outside of premade groups are still not going to bother with it. The core reason behind FW having huge wait times is because most people drop solo or in small groups. When dropping solo, playing FW is like pressing your face against an angle grinder, so most people will try it a couple times, then go straight back to QP where they at least stand a chance at winning. Or they'll play as Clans.

...And then start bitching about OP IS mechs as they get curb-stomped repeatedly, wondering why their "much more powerful" Clan mechs aren't holding up like they expected. You know, because when getting stomped as IS, it was the mechs... not the loadouts/builds, not the tactics (and lack thereof), bad drop calls for the mode, positioning and coordination, it was OP Clan Mechs.
The cycle of FP will continue, just with an ever smaller population.

If Clan 'mechs aren't any more powerful, then why not just let everyone put both Clan and IS 'mechs in their drop decks?

Would be interesting to see how many Clan mechs still be chosen.
I guess good Clan Chassis like Marauder2c/MCat2/Hellbringer/Piranha/Summoner/NyghtGyr combined with good IS Chassis like BLM/Fafnir/Assassin/Commandos/Orions/Marauders/Bushwacker.
Boah what DropDeck:
Assassin/Bushwacker/Mad2C/BLM
or
Piranha/Marauder/Marauder2c/Stalker
Flea/Huntsmen/Summoner/Fafnir
Lol thats fun to think about.

I think faction play is so far removed from there, being any point in keeping it as a traditional alternate 'history'
I see no point in keeping clan and IS separate.
Other than to stop one side from being loaded, with all the top teams, rendering FW even more pointless.
This imbalance is the most important thing to address, if that was sorted out, I think people would just be glad to have a mode of play that isn't Q.P or solaris.
Perhaps then people would in time not give a damn about clan verses I.S as P.G.I have rendered the whole idea of invasion utterly pointless, because they've allowed Mercs in the clan side from Day 1, and completely screwed over loyalists on both sides since ver2.0

I still get the impression that people fail to notice that entering FW really means playing a different game to QP.
When your Zen reaches the point,
- where simply looking at your drop list means, you know the weaponary and preferred fighting range of your team mates and together with the map info you choose your drop deck accordingly
- where looking at the opponents drop list tell you exactly the strength of the opposing team
- where you you are playing one tactic even without saying or writing a word in com, just because everyone knows what needs to be done dependiong on map, mode and the tactical development during the drop
(btw. it doesn't matter whether you play Clan or IS)

Or, you know, allow the different tech bases to be used on the same chassis. I can see requiring the base chassis for the faction, but what about a Kodiak with RACs or a Summoner with Heavy PPCs? Or a Battlemaster with Clan ERLLs?

I started back about 1.5 months ago and when I queue up for FP I was on a team and in a match within minutes. The last two weeks it has gotten slower...and slower and slower.
Last night I logged in to see NO ONE in queue for FP..
So it wont increase times...it seems no one plays FP anymore.
Anyone know whats happened in the last few weeks?

the only problem i see is that you cant switch sides when the queue is imbalenced 2:1 or greater. id hate to not get to play fp because only 3 people went with an unpopular faction.
