So they're just going to restrict Cadets' ability to VoiP, and single them out.

Not that "Cadet" is something negative or derogatory, but I just don't see the point of doing this, even the VoiP Restriction. Are you trying to deter new accounts made to verbally abuse? Cause there's a mute button.

I happy about it. 25 games is nothing anyway. Most new people wouldnt even know wherr thr button is.
There been lots of trolls in group q with these throw away accounts.

Is fine, 25 measly games in the quiet corner wont hurt them any - I in fact rather enjoy quickplay with voice coms off, just straight up robot murder with out the passive aggressive dead guy trying to backseat game from the graveyard.

A better idea would be to have a system to track who's creating new accounts and automatically push them to their respective Tiers. If a Tier 1 created a new account, just start that person in Tier1.

Double edged sword really. I understand why it might be necessary to stop persistent trolls, but it’s also punishing new players who might just need to ask advice and what not in game. I’d prefer to see a probationary cadet period where any report against you removes your access to VOIP immediately until the report is moderated - would allow voice access to newbies, while trolls would be cut off very quickly.

How? Unless you’re using exactly the same details (and why would you if you wanted to get away with it), there’s no way to track this sort of thing in a FTP game, unless you require some sort of proof of ID, which also cuts into people willing to try the game, because of the hassle.

Data mine the info. It's ok to do it. It isn't ok to use it without disclosing how you're going to use it and for what purposes.

People often don’t give real names/addresses/birthdays on these things, because play enough games with free accounts and your info will be hacked at some point. Email addresses are free from many providers. Unless you need a verified ID, it’s all impossible to stop trolls, and verified forms of ID create a road-block to new account creation that slow the rate of players joining.

Better to have a VOIP block than require verified ID, but it’s still a broad cut.

They use real money on accounts they start to troll people and get banned? Exactly how does that work out for them?

Also, payments are generally processed though third parties, I wouldn’t be sure how much identifying info PG would get (likely not much) but if they were given actual payment details which could be identified as from offending parties, then yeah, instant bans should be a thing when it happens. Obviously, if it were done through a steam account, that would be verifiable, not sure about other payment portals.
