I started mwo about a week ago I bought the ebon jaguar and tried pretty much every type of weapon in the game after playing I found that I really liked sniping with a ppc and adv zoom so I was thinking about buying a mech for ppc for starters I'm really bad at heat management and I would love a mech with good quirks for that

For clans shadowcats and summoners are the typical go-to ppc bois, but thats more for their poptarting ability not quirks. I would just try to bring more heat sinks and not worry about it unless you want one of the new HSL+ quirks that let you fire three at once without ghost heat, not sure what all mechs have those currently other than the Awesome.

adder-prime 2 ppc/ arctic wolf-prime using omni pods (2ppc & jj) / summoner f/m using omni pods for rt/lt energy mounts 2 ppc&jjs /warhawk-prime 4ppc (2 weapon group)

summoner runs the coolest

I would recommend the Blackjack 3 (BJ-3) for IS. It has -10% energy heat, -5% ppc heat, 10% energy range, 20% ppc velocity, 5% better dissipation and, armor quirks.

The best PPC boat is the Warhawk with 4 c-ERPPC, but it doesnt really need to be at advanced zoom range to perform optimally.

Well, the Ebon Jaquar is a pretty good PPC 'mech. Advanced zoom has certain issues due to the game engine, though - I'd use a targeting computer instead. If you want something more mobile than the Ebon Jaguar, most people go for the Shadowcat on the Clan side, but the Huntsman Can Work, too.

ACW-P with the prime LT omnipod has better cooling than the SHC and decent poptart abilities. Plus the absolute best peaking profile.

SMN / WHK (WHKCP, set of 8) / HKBIICA / WHMIIC / SNS (Needs set of 8)
BJ-3 / HMN / NVA / ADR

The most common and first line is btr than 2nd line. Some rely on quirks and omnipods so check that out.

And what engine issues are those exactly? I use ADVZ a LOT without any issue.

Ash, why the WHK-C, though? I think the prime with set of 8 bonus is somewhat better. More Velocity, same heatquirks, even CT structure.

Ah yeah you might be right there. I was half guessing. It might be the C for ERL.

"engine" issue is probably him setting a in game mouse sens of 1.0 and ultra zorro'ing when advanced zoomed.

At one point in time, the Warhawk C had some insane quirks that made it better than the Prime for ERPPCs, but there was a bunch of whining from lore purists saying that the Warhawk C shouldn't be better than the Warhawk Prime at PPCs, and PGI nerfed the C.

Edit: Here it is, 2017. People need to stop shooting themselves in the foot when we have good mechs.

The game can't handle true zoom. It would have to redraw the entire screen at a different resolution, apparently. So it would have issues with what you saw in the zoom window sometimes not matching up right with everything else - I know that's really vague, but it's been a while since I used the module. They DID put out an update a fair while back that was an improvement, now that I remember it, so your mileage may not be the old system that I recall.

I've never had an issue with ADVZ, lining up shots, hitting or whatever. This goes out to 1700m as well.

And we're talking 2.5+ years here so if that's something from way back when, dunno what to say. Games changes heaps so no point commenting on the last.

Yeah, I stopped using it, and had actually forgotten about the improvements they'd made until you said something - if it's working for you now, that's what matters. Thanks for letting me know.
