I'm just wondering whether having played the games already before any kind of reward has been announced will qualify the said players to those rewards?

the incentive should be, you love Faction play , and want to make sure the upgraded version is working and bug free, and enjoyed by everyone.
I would rather test with like minded, then a group of players just coming over for free stuff, and no regard to a working faction play

getting something for my/our time in PTS is great, I'll take it
just don't think it's necessary. since probably, 80% of those coming over to PTS just for free stuff, won't be doing Faction on Live servers anyways ,

Actually I don't have tested pts yet, cause eu primetime is nearly dead on it. (I come à bit sooner around 17h00utc to 19)
And can't get any game 2 days in a row... So a bit sad.

Put this MW5 event on PTS so people gets their reward for live. => via website

I spent over an hour in the que early this morning (perth time) because I want to help and test stuff. But lets be realistic there is no such thing as a free lunch, someone always pays. So if they want people to play then they should be at least willing to offer something in return (which they do but it needs to be a little sweeter).

Also how do you know that people wont get hooked by the idea of FW and that in turn causes more people to play? I dont play FW normally but I'll still help to test it out so that I can see if its worth me playing live with the new changes.

Managed to log in, no error message.

Ques were empty, so didn't get to actually play..

Also, can anyone give me a sure-fire way of installing the Portal and PTS offline, cose' I can't get the portal to patch, and to run the PTS the Portal must be fully patched..

I see the offline download files, but have no idea what to do with them..

An offline self-installer would be nice..

They want to try that on the test server, but at the same time events are being switched that bring MC.

to be fair i had it completed in 3 games. and that was after sitting in queue all day watching it climb to within 2 players of having a game and then suddenly tank when the phase changed. at this point i think it would be best to hold off till the weekend.

of course the pts came up 2 days before it was announced, we were told there would be loot, which hasnt been announced yet. i think in the future instead of doing it this way, you announce a pts, at least 3 days in advance with pre-determined loot, schedule it to start on friday and run though the weekend. email notifications sent to people who participated in previous pts would also be a good idea.

They simply dont get it.
Even a chimp would be smart enough after the 3rd time without good numbers and lots of people complaining "no one is on the pts".. to give the people a incentive to play on the Test server.
Then after the test sessions when they have their "numbers" and they change something esssential on th live servers and that doenst work that way they wanted,then they wonder why the forums are burning and just telling us: " the majority of the playerbase wanted it"

Oh really??? You mean the 5% that played on the test servers and wasted more time with waiting then playing / testing ? They are so never ever going to learn anything from their mistakes in the past

the next 4, will go much faster, 4days left is just C-Bills, 3 days left is Premium time, 2 days left is a joke, gotta be, 200 GXP ??, and 1 day left, if done in FP, done in one FP match for a mech bay.
tho 5 days left for MC, most likely took a large chunk of Players away from PTS, so while yesterday/today had little (not enough) to get matches, today/tomorrow, might show some improvement in population.
that's saying they fixed the match maker, at one moment there were enough in Queue to have 3 scouting matches running at the same time, but one would not start.

So the event may not have as much impact as the days pass . . I hope

Doesn't matter if I would rather test or not. It is in fact what everyone else would rather do with their time. Humans are incentive based creatures. If there are better things to be achieved on a personal level then that is what most will tend to go for. Doing things for the "Greater Good" isn't much of a motivation for most.

I would rather have a larger group of players of different interest to test with as well. Otherwise you aren't testing just confirming bias. There are more people commenting on this thread that I have seen on the PTS server the entire time we have been trying to test this update. I got two scout drops in the last time they put this up and nothing so far this time.

to be blunt, AGAIN having events on the live-servers while testing goes on the PTS is a typical PGI-move.
we told you again and again that it's bad to do so..
and again and again you repeat it.

Just curious and wanting to make sure, but following the confirmation from Paul under the thread below that everyone starts off FP from zero - this hasn't been hard-coded into anything meaning the reason no-one is getting any drops at all because the MM isn't recognising the players as having any rating?
