Well, that's good to hear. I'm on the cusp of T1, and while I'm still getting stomps and rolls like everyone else, I also participate in plenty of tight matches that get my blood pumping, win or lose. Sentiments like the OP's worry me.
I think I'm one of those players that doesn't belong in T1, but I hope it doesn't suck.
Its ez to be better than 50 to 75 % of what you call Tier 1.
If you dont run into reds entire death ball, e.g. by running clock wise on maps like hpg all alone or in small numbers then youre already a lot smarter than like 50 to 75 % of players in Tier 1 - 3 cause you will see that in basically evry single match either in your team or in team red.
If you understand that taking center on e.g. mining has a lot of advantages, and that advancing to ramp to then be too timid to take center, to find yourself on lowground, clumped up, getting hammred by strikes, to then split to either side and get kiilled brutally by team red on high ground.....
Then youre already better than like 50 to 75 % of players in Tier 1 - 3. Im not joking, theres a huge portion of players in those tiiers that make the most basic mistakes and get instakilled. Youd expect that from ppl that have maybe 50 to 100 matches under their belt tops. And thats being generous. YOu can learn that much faster, after like 20 - 30 matches anybody should realize that you intsadie like that.
So, its actually really, really ez to be better than most players in Tier 1 - 3.
If you survive the first 5 mins and land like 7 solid alphas in anything but lights, then youre already way, way better than like 75 to 85 % of players in Tier 1 - 3. A lot of them melt doing like 50 to 200 dmg in the first 2 mins making the most basic mistakes, eg. spitting basically right away.
If you understant that connecting to a match but to join late in slow heavies and assautls is basically suicide and your chances to survive or contribute in a meaningful way just dropped dramatically, even by just joining the match 30 seconds late, then youre already better than 50 - 75 % of the players in those Tiers. If you join late in slow mechs, youre basically already dead and can just suicide.
And if you understand that silhoueting on a ridge (e.g. polar highlands) vs an entire deathball will instakill you and that that isnt very smart, then youre already way better than like 85 % of the palyers in Tier 1 and 3 that make that basic mistake in literalyl every single match.
So, to not be cannonfodder in Tier 1 - 3 is ridiculously ez if just rember e.g. those 2 or 3 things. Only those 2 or 3 thigns will automcatilly propel you to the best 10 or 15 % of the players.
I know I know....thats how sad but also funny Tier 1 is.
It makes you laugh alot but you also cry alot so bring tissues.
