Or they have a "can't miss" 'Mechpack in the making and are holding it back to create a salesspike to impress potential Investors/distributors.

There was already a gagillion mechs when i started playing MWO .
Its overwhelming for a newbie even if he has a few select favorites from older games .

Well, the problem with "tension" is that you really need to impress. Hardly can think of any Mech announcement that will be a hype.
First time I was extremly enjoyed was the concept art of the Black Jack in 2012 (and not because I like this Mech because it was a Mech that was "overlooked" for such a long time)
But, please give me something to rant about

Given MW5 is slated for September I'd argue that the window for dual releases is past/, and even getting the Dervish in MW5 is unlikely. Given PGI's need to meet September I am honestly wondering if we will see any new chassis in MWO at all.
IMO the delayed townhall isn't to build hype for a new 'Mech, it's for Russ to "Well, here's the thing" announce no new 'Mechs until after MW5/Ever. Any new packs this year will either be new Hero 'Mechs or new variants (with S c-bill bonus if we're lucky).

Being honest, I'd bet an underwhelming nostalgiamech like the Crusader would outsell an underwhelming gimmickmech like the Hatchetman or Scorpion.
I'd drive exactly zero of these three in MWO, but only one of them I'd consider buying.

Melee has its uses. Afterall, when a kick can do as much damage as an AC/20...imagine what an Axe could do when accompanied by some decent close range firepower.

According to the AMAs, Russ says there's room for one, maybe two more double-duty 'Mechs.
That said, I would also not be surprised to hear them say that they are finally going to start off-ramping work for MWO but, if I'm honest, I'd trade MW5 for a successor to MWO in a heartbeat.
Gib IS Omnis, pls.

I bet new announcement today. Again. We are swimming in mechs. An achievement in itself to have played a match with EVERY mech, including variants up until now. Find the favorites are key indeed.
Im actually enjoying the Champion right now

Well melee would surely make otherwise melee capable mechs even more useful and terrifying.
Thinking of Atlas, Banshee. Mechs known to just go all out brawl and punching metal like theres no tomorrow.

That gives us a time frame for MWO's end of life.
Say this release is a double (and they've skipped last months to make it so....)... That's May...
So they skip another month to make another double pack... June, July....
That leaves no more time for doubles but throw in another months' mech for luck... August...
And that's the last 'mech pack... to be announced. August plus three months to release date. November.
Then comes December.... Mech Con '19... when they officially announce it (this years big surprise will be that's it's the last time MWO will be featured):
