This is all that has changed since the last 2 years I played mwo. I think what pgi accomplished is impressive.
Ive been around MWO for more than 5 years son and many of the things you list were not done in the past year (new skill tree? may 2016 and made MWO much grindier than it used to be...yes you can customize your mech skills more than you used to but the old system with modules took less grind, cost less cbills, less exps and in some categories provided much bigger bonuses...is it really that much of an improvement? more of a lateral shift in my opinion). the new maps you talk about, the most recent one was in spring of 2018. Laser overhaul (3 months after what was hailed as the laser overhaul) was more of a nerf to high clan laser alpha than an improvement. Free loot boxes, you really feel that is "new content"? Support actions I think were introduced in 2017 and shortly after that clan Nova Cat, Steele Viper were added and Diamond Shark came a few months later. There have been no changes or overhaul to the quickplay match maker (other than supposedly reducing the tier variation limit from "2" to "1" but I still get T1 players on the opposite team as my T4 alt account as recently as this weekend...ive just given up reporting these things that aren't supposed to happen because PGI doesn't seem interested in doing anything about it). Competitive mode I'm pretty sure was also introduced in 2017. Yes, very true LRMs just got a boost (although PGI felt it was supposed to be a nerf, lol) and slight adjustments to AMS needed to be made to compensate for its "over effectiveness" (although for years prior it was hardly even worth it to take ams). Yes PGI is now testing things for faction play...but they are testing things that they have been promising to have done as far back as the first "faction rework" back in 2016 (but sadly all the reworks to date have fallen short of what they indicated faction play should be when it was first introduced as community warfare...were you here then? Remember that?). Honestly, I'm not trying to be down on PGI completely, I mean I am still (barely) here afterall. All I am trying to get at is (specially since PGI claims its a different department that creates mech packs than the team that balances (nerfs) thing and a different teams that create new maps and new game modes) that it is high time to introduce this months (or last months depending on your perspective) new mech(or mechs if they are infact planning something big). Believe it or not I actually look forward to finding out what the new mech of the month will be (still hoping for the Crusader to be introduced...yeah I know "unseen" and all) even if my monthly purchases have severely declined for the past year (partially due to the stagnation of matchmaker progress, no new original maps (hibernal is just canyon with snow and a few pathing/asset additions) and the only change in game modes has been the removal of escort). For years the first Tuesday of the month has typically been when PGI has announced the new mechs releasing for MC and Cbills...and introduced the new mech chassis available for pre-order.
